Exploring the Jincheon Local Folk Museum
During our recent trip to Jincheon, we visited the Jincheon Local Folk Museum, where we could explore the history and cultural life of the region all in one place. It's conveniently located near Gilsangsa Temple, making it easy to visit both sites together. The museum features outdoor stone artifacts, a first-floor history exhibition hall, and a second-floor local folk materials exhibition hall, providing a comprehensive understanding of Jincheon's history and traditional lifestyles.
The Jincheon Local Folk Museum, which opened in 1996, is a two-story exhibition facility showcasing the cultural heritage and folk materials of the Jincheon area, introducing the region's history and traditional culture.

The visit begins at the outdoor exhibition area in front of the building. The courtyard features stone artifacts and stele relocated from various locations in Jincheon, allowing visitors to closely observe the local cultural heritage right from the entrance.
The stone statue of the Buddha from Wolseong-ri offers a close-up view of the overall shape, clothing folds, and halo of the statue. By reading the accompanying information, visitors can learn about the characteristics of the artifact and the process by which it was moved to the museum.
The stone pedestal from Gyoseong-ri supports the Buddha statue and showcases intricately carved lotus petals, allowing visitors to explore the traces of Buddhist culture remaining in Jincheon.
