A Delicious Dining Experience at Paju Unjeong: Yukmihyang Paju Branch

A few weeks ago, I visited a fantastic restaurant in Paju Unjeong with my family. I'd like to share my experience at Yukmihyang Paju Branch, a Simhak Mountain 맛집 (delicious restaurant) where we enjoyed high-quality meat at reasonable prices in a spacious and pleasant atmosphere.
1. Location & Parking
Yukmihyang Paju, a regular haunt of ours, is located within a 20-minute drive from Simhak Mountain. Housed in a tall building, the striking exterior facade makes it easy to spot, even for first-time visitors.
Address: 32, Gyoharo 159beon-gil, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor
The restaurant boasts a dedicated parking lot, making it convenient to visit by car. There's ample parking space in front of the building, accommodating dozens of cars, and it's free of charge.
In addition to the outdoor parking, there's also parking available on the 2nd floor of the building. With space for over 100 cars, it's an ideal venue for small gatherings as well as large company dinners.
2. Interior Atmosphere
The interior of Yukmihyang Paju was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of seats available for larger groups, ensuring a relaxing dining experience.
We had made a reservation in advance and were guided to a private room by a staff member. I appreciated the fact that we could enjoy our meal in a cozy setting without any extra charge.
3. Menu
The variety of meat options made it difficult to decide what to order. We started with the recommended dish: boneless ribs made from pork shoulder.
They also offer various services for participating in a receipt review event, including a complimentary beverage. We purchased the barley ssamjang (dipping sauce) and enjoyed it at home with some other meat.
While many meat-focused restaurants tend to skimp on side dishes, Yukmihyang Paju offered a surprisingly diverse selection. The refreshing and flavorful white kimchi was particularly appetizing.
The meat-specific dipping sauce looked exceptional. The generous amount of chili peppers and scallions suggested a clean and refreshing taste.
The selection of쌈 채소 (ssam vegetables) went beyond the typical lettuce, offering a wide variety of greens. It was so diverse that it felt like dining at a Korean set menu restaurant.
We were able to get more at the self-service bar, so we took a lot of what we liked. In addition to the basic side dishes, there were also desserts like pudding, which was very satisfying.
4. Boneless Ribs
The boneless pork ribs definitely lived up to their reputation as a popular menu item. At first glance, the meat looked incredibly tender.
Apparently, it's a top seller that contributes significantly to their annual sales. The staff grilled the meat for us, so we could sit back and relax.
The meat was thick and well-marinated. The sweet aroma of the marinade made us eager to dig in.
As expected, it was incredibly tender, melting in our mouths. The marinade, not too sweet, was perfect for our taste.
It was both savory and flavorful. Eating it with sliced onions helped cut through the richness, making it even more enjoyable.
Wrapping it in fresh lettuce with various sauces made me smile without realizing it. It was a truly happy dining experience.
5. Raw Beef Short Ribs
The raw beef short ribs, which we ordered additionally, are prepared with great care, taking up to an hour to process 1kg.
Even I, who doesn't know much about meat, could tell that it was of excellent quality. The marbling was fantastic, and the taste was highly anticipated. Again, the staff grilled it perfectly, which was impressive.
It was best enjoyed when slightly pink. The tender texture and the burst of savory juices were exceptional.
Dipping it in the meat sauce enhanced the flavor even more. The overall balance of the dishes at Yukmihyang Paju is excellent, and my family thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
The wasabi wasn't fresh but pickled, which concentrated the pungent flavor, catering to my taste. Finishing with perilla leaf pickles made for a perfect ending.
6. Ganghwa Boneless Crab Meat
Another specialty at Yukmihyang Paju is the boneless crab meat bibim-guksu (spicy mixed noodles). We noticed other tables ordering it, so we decided to try it, and it was a brilliant choice.
It's a dish where you mix spicy crab meat with an egg yolk, and you can choose to mix it with rice or noodles. I mixed the noodles with the sauce and happily slurped away.
Above all, I can't forget the taste of the crab meat sauce. It was spicy yet slightly sweet, and I kept scooping up the sauce with my spoon until there was nothing left.
7. Overall Review
The restaurant also operates a cafe, so you can take care of dessert right away. The prices are very reasonable compared to the taste and quality of the meat, so I highly recommend it as a great value restaurant in Paju.
