Fantastic Scene

Savoring a bite of Hanwoo beef in Jeju is a truly special experience. Among the many restaurants known for their Jeju Hanwoo, this particular spot stood out with its exceptional quality.

The sound of the beautifully marbled meat sizzling over charcoal was enough to stimulate my appetite. Thanks to this, I enjoyed a relaxing time filled with savory aromas.

I was thoroughly impressed with the taste, atmosphere, and service, so I wanted to share this gem with you all.

1. Go Gi Neun Hanwoo Da Ido Main Branch

Location: 1st floor, 343, Jungang-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do

Hours: 11:00 - 22:00 / Break time 14:30 - 17:00 / Last order 21:00

The table filled with side dishes immediately caught my eye. The neatly arranged and colorful banchan heightened my anticipation even before the meal began. It felt like it would be a hearty and comforting meal.

The building's exterior had a clean and solid impression. The sign was easily visible from afar, making it easy to find.

The restaurant had a spacious parking lot, making it convenient for customers to come and go.

The menu displayed on the outer wall was easy to read. The neatly organized menu gave me confidence in their offerings. I felt a sense of thoughtful attention to detail.

The display case showcased fresh Hanwoo beef. The quality of the meat and beautiful marbling looked incredibly appetizing. It was evident that they prioritize honest quality.

The refrigerator displayed various cuts of packaged meat. The vibrant colors and clean packaging conveyed the freshness of the beef. I appreciated being able to see and choose the meat myself, a testament to this restaurant's reputation as a top Jeju Hanwoo spot.

The interior of the restaurant was spacious and pleasant. The window seats, bathed in sunlight, created a warm atmosphere. It was a modern yet comfortable dining space.

The arrangement of side dishes on the table was abundant at a glance. Each dish was neatly presented, enhancing the overall dining experience. Just thinking about pairing them with the meat made my mouth water.

The Hanwoo had a fine texture and balanced marbling. It looked fresh and glossy, and I could almost smell the savory aroma just by looking at it.

The pickled 명이나물 (myeonginamul, wild garlic leaves) were glossy and fragrant. The salty and subtle aroma stimulated my appetite. It seemed like the perfect accompaniment to the meat.

Fresh 천엽 (cheonyeop, tripe) and 생간 (saenggan, raw liver) were neatly arranged. Their vibrant colors indicated their freshness. They looked like they would melt softly in my mouth.

The 간장게장 (ganjang gejang, soy sauce marinated crab) was full of roe and intensely flavored with soy sauce. The salty taste had a subtle sweetness. It was a "rice thief" dish that I couldn't stop eating even without rice.

The Hanwoo on the grill was sizzling and turning golden brown. The savory aroma rising through the smoke stimulated my appetite. The juices intensified as it touched the charcoal.

The color of the meat cooking on the grill gradually deepened. The outside became crispy, while the inside remained tender. It looked perfectly cooked just by looking at it.

As I flipped each piece, the surface glistened. The juices bubbled out, intensifying the aroma. It was so enticing that I could almost imagine the taste.

The golden-brown Jeju Hanwoo filled the grill. The juices reflecting in the flames were mouthwatering. It was cooked to perfection.

The cross-section of the meat was a vibrant pink. The inside was moist and the texture was alive, indicating it was perfectly cooked. Just looking at it made my mouth water.

Dipping it lightly in salt enhanced the savory flavor. The umami stood out, highlighting the authentic taste of Jeju Hanwoo.

Eating it with 명이나물 (myeonginamul) created a refreshing sensation in my mouth. The salty marinade balanced the richness of the meat, making it harmonious. The savory flavor of the meat became even more pronounced.

Putting it on 양파장 (yangpa jang, sliced onion in soy sauce) added a sweet and sour aroma. The crunchy texture of the onion paired with the meat for a refreshing finish. My mouth felt clean, making every last bite enjoyable.

I tried eating rice with 된장찌개 (doenjang jjigae, soybean paste stew). The rich aroma of the 된장 (doenjang) permeated the rice, conveying warmth. It was a hearty and savory finish.

The stew was filled with tofu and vegetables. The broth was thick and the deep flavor lingered. I felt comforted with every bite.

Dipping a piece of meat in the broth created a new combination. The savory 된장 (doenjang) enhanced the flavor of the meat. It left a warm and rich aftertaste.

The 비빔냉면 (bibim naengmyeon, spicy cold noodles) had chewy noodles and a smooth, well-blended sauce. The spicy and sweet flavor cleansed the palate from the richness of the meat. It felt refreshing.

Finally, I ate a bite with the meat on top of the 냉면 (naengmyeon). The savory meat and cool sauce created a perfect balance. One bite perfectly completed the meal.

The fresh Hanwoo, neatly prepared side dishes, and warm atmosphere were in harmony. A piece of meat with a subtle smoky flavor was a perfect main dish in itself. Even the 된장찌개 (doenjang jjigae) and 냉면 (naengmyeon) served after the meal were impeccable.

This Jeju Hanwoo restaurant offered a dining experience beyond just a meal, and it remains a memorable place I want to visit again.

2. Olle Guksu

Location: 24, Gwiarang-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju-do

Hours: 08:00 - 15:05 / Closed every Sunday

Menu: Pork Noodles (Gogi Guksu) ₩10,000

Olle Guksu's Pork Noodles, found near Jeju Airport, featured thick slices of Dombe pork generously placed on top of a rich bone broth. The noodles had a perfect chewiness, and the amount of noodles felt generous compared to the amount of meat, making it a satisfying meal. There was quite a wait due to its popularity, but the turnover was quick, so it wasn't too bad if you timed your visit well.

3. Goijeong

Location: 6, Aewol-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do

Hours: Daily 11:00 - 24:00 / Last order 23:00

Menu: Premium Black Pork Belly ₩53,000

Goijeong's black pork, which I tasted near Aewol Beach, was pre-grilled with barley straw, resulting in juicy meat with a unique smoky flavor that was clean and free of any unpleasant odors. The staff grilled the meat for us, so we didn't have to do much during the meal, and the view of Aewol Beach from the window made the atmosphere perfect. Parking was available in front of the store, making it easy to visit by car. If you're looking for a great pork restaurant in Jeju, this is a must-visit.

4. Oneunjeong Kimbap

Location: 2, Dongmun-dong-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

Hours: 09:00 - 19:00 / Closed every Sunday

Menu: Oneunjeong Kimbap ₩4,000

Oneunjeong Kimbap, which I visited near Seogwipo Dongmun Market, was memorable for its crispy and savory texture, unlike regular kimbap, because it contained fried tofu skin as an ingredient. Reservations or confirmation before visiting were essential, and dining in the store was not possible as it was a take-out only establishment, but it was perfect for packing and eating on the go. It was a great kimbap place for a quick bite while sightseeing.

5. Pick Up Cafe

Location: 167, Namseong-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do

Hours: 11:00 - 18:00 / Closed every Monday

Menu: Mentaiko Mayo Salt Bread ₩3,500

Pick Up Cafe's Mentaiko Mayo Salt Bread had a crispy exterior and a moist interior, filled with the rich flavor of mentaiko mayo, so the moment I took a bite, I knew I had to buy it. It was open in two time slots per day, so there was a bit of a wait, but the wait was not at all a waste when you tasted the freshly baked bread. The cafe's emotional interior and fragrant coffee scent made it the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in Jeju.
