Revitalizing Urban Healing Spaces in Goyang City

Goyang City is transforming urban parks into healing spaces in the heart of the city!
In the bustling daily life, parks serve as a place to take a moment to relax.
Children can play, adults can stroll, and neighbors can communicate in these community spaces.
Goyang Special City is promoting environmental improvements in urban parks in Deogyang-gu to ensure citizens can enjoy parks safely and comfortably.
This year, the focus is on creating new relaxation areas, particularly in aging children's parks and neighborhood parks.
Revamping the Jugyo 2nd Children's Park for all ages!
After over 30 years since its establishment, Jugyo 2nd Children's Park will undergo significant changes.
Goyang City will invest 400 million won from special adjustment grants to start comprehensive renovations from June.
Old play equipment will be replaced with modern facilities, and a trampoline will be installed to enhance children's play experiences.
Additionally, exercise equipment, benches, and pergolas will be added to create a comfortable resting space for seniors and residents.
Most importantly, safety measures for children will be prioritized with rubber chip paving and sidewalk repairs.
Improving the safety and comfort of forest paths at Seongra Park!
Seongra Park, a popular walking spot for residents of Seongsa-dong, will also be transformed.
Goyang City has secured 1 billion won in special adjustment grants and 400 million won in special grants to carry out park facility improvements.
The renovation of aging walking paths has already been completed, and benches, swings, and exercise equipment have been installed throughout the park.
Citizens can now enjoy walking, exercising, and relaxing in one space.
In June, additional facility improvements will also be completed.
Damaged wooden stairs and bridges will be renovated, and drinking fountains will be improved to provide a cleaner environment.
Dongsan Flower Park, a beautiful four-season park, has also been newly renovated.
Located near the Samsong Starfield, this park features a walking path that connects one end of the park to a rose garden, with a birch forest path established along the way.
Various tree species have been planted to showcase beautiful flowers and trees throughout the seasons.
In spring, magnolias and lilacs bloom; in summer, hydrangeas; in autumn, the foliage turns vibrant colors; and in winter, the park is adorned with red and white dogwoods.
Additionally, a beautiful rose garden has been created, along with scenic lighting and pedestrian guidance lights to enhance the atmosphere at night.
This project aims to increase citizen satisfaction and invigorate the surrounding commercial areas.
Parks are essential urban infrastructure that provide spaces for walking, resting, exercising, and socializing.
Goyang City plans to continue maintaining aging parks and expanding green spaces where citizens can enjoy nature and relax comfortably.
