Experience the 36th Geochang International Theater Festival

Today, I visited the 36th Geochang International Theater Festival taking place at Susungdae in Geochang County.
This year's festival coincides with the opening of various tourism events linked to the 2026 Geochang Visit Year.
Visitors and tourists can enjoy performances along with experiences, sightseeing, and entertainment all at once.

The theme for this year's festival is 'Enjoying Geochang Beyond Performances.'
Exciting events include:
- Lucky Box Event
- Digital Tourist Resident Card Roulette
- International Theater Festival Mission Game
- Time Capsule Journey with Gobok (Slow Mailbox)
Visitors who complete three missions will have a chance to draw a prize from the Lucky Box!
You can also get a digital tourist resident card and spin the lucky roulette.
There are various missions to find hidden characters throughout the festival grounds.
Additionally, there are food trucks and flea markets set up in the grassy area.
I took a stroll around the grassy square and participated in the events.
First, I wrote a supportive message for Geochang on the board and took a photo.
Then, I answered a quiz about Geochang tourism to complete the mission.
After successfully completing the mission, I could draw a prize from the Lucky Box.
Next, I participated in a mission to find hidden characters around the festival.
I walked around Susungdae with a leaflet, searching for Hamlet, the Grim Reaper, Jean Valjean, the Little Prince, and Nolbu's wife to collect stickers.
The missions were enjoyable for people of all ages.
I also participated in a game where I stacked stones with the Grim Reaper, which was surprisingly tense!
Completing the stone tower mission was a success!
There was also a fun game where Nolbu's wife rolled a ball into a cup.
It seemed simple, but it required good aim, making it enjoyable for both kids and adults.
The Little Prince had a nostalgic land game that everyone could enjoy.
After completing the missions, we collected stickers to enter a prize draw.
Participating in fun missions and receiving souvenirs and prizes is a must!
The Slow Mailbox event allows you to write postcards that will be sent out in August 2026.
When you receive your postcard, it will bring back memories of the Geochang International Theater Festival.
There are also various experiential events happening at Susungdae, including a cute keyring-making workshop and free book rentals.
You can enjoy reading in the cool shade of trees!
During the festival period, various plays and performances will continue at Susungdae.
Tickets are required for performances at certain venues, while fringe performances are free.
Today, an exciting Water Festival was held with music and water cannons!
It was a joy to see everyone enjoying the performances and having fun in the water.
The Geochang International Theater Festival is not just about watching plays.
It is a representative summer festival of Geochang, where you can enjoy various performances in nature, cool off in the valley, and experience diverse activities and food.
