2. Experience History at the History and Culture Center
Before exploring Seororeung, I recommend visiting the History and Culture Center at the entrance. This space uses media and kiosks to convey the rich history of Seororeung in an engaging way.
You can view detailed models of the royal tombs and watch videos about the royal processions that took place for ancestral worship.
3. Exploring Seororeung
Seororeung, meaning 'five tombs in the west,' is a spacious area filled with well-maintained trees, creating a beautiful environment.
There are plenty of resting spots where you can truly relax in nature.
The first tomb you encounter at the entrance is Myungneung, where King Sukjong and Queens Inhyeon and Inwon are laid to rest.
4. Green Forest Paths: Recommended Walking Trails in Gyeonggi-do
Seororeung is not only great for historical exploration but also for enjoying a leisurely stroll. The forest paths are equipped with mats, making it easy to walk through the gentle hills.
The Seoranam Path (1.92 km / approx. 40 minutes) is filled with the charm of lush, primitive forests, providing cool shade throughout your walk.
The Sonamu Path (1.08 km / approx. 20 minutes) offers a refreshing walk among beautifully spread pine trees.
In conclusion, while I couldn't reach Changneung and Hongneung during this visit, just strolling under the thick tree canopies was enough to pass the time quickly.
Seororeung is a precious space that offers complete relaxation even in the heat, with resting spots scattered throughout the area.
Many visitors were seen enjoying conversations on forest benches, while others quietly rested.
This is a place where you can study history and reflect on life. How about taking a healing walk at Goyang's Seororeung this weekend, surrounded by greenery and a cool breeze?
