Visiting the National Love Park in Dangjin

As we approach June, the month of national memorial and veterans, I visited the National Love Park in Dangjin to remember the noble spirit of the fallen heroes.
This park is a themed memorial established to honor the noble sacrifice of those who dedicated their lives to the country.
It features exhibitions of retired military equipment and well-maintained walking paths, making it an excellent outing spot for educational history lessons with children.
The park is equipped with a parking lot, an indoor exhibition hall, grassy areas, outdoor trails, and restrooms.
Basic Information about the National Love Park:
Address: 43-7 Jobisil-gil, Songak-eup, Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do
Weekday Operating Hours: 09:00 - 16:00
Break Time: 12:00 - 13:00
Regular Closed Days: Every Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays
* Outdoor park areas, excluding the indoor exhibition hall, are open year-round.
At one corner of the park, an F-86 fighter jet is displayed.
The F-86 Sabre was one of the world's first jet fighters with swept wings and played a pivotal role in changing the course of aerial battles during the Korean War.
Introduced to the Republic of Korea Air Force in 1955 after the war, Korea became the first Asian country to possess a jet fighter, serving as a core defense force until the mid-1960s.
Beyond the fighter jet, two Nike missiles are on display, which were essential in intercepting enemy aircraft at high altitudes, serving as a strong foundation for Korea's air defense.
As you pass the military exhibits and ascend the stairs, you will encounter the symbol of the National Love Park, the Memorial Tower.
This tower was erected to honor the noble sacrifices of those who gave their lives for the country and to console their spirits.
Every year on Memorial Day, commemorative ceremonies are held here, making it a perfect place to pause for a moment of reflection and gratitude.
Standing in front of the Memorial Tower, you can see statues representing the military and families on either side, symbolizing the lessons of history and the bright future we must nurture.
Alongside the Memorial Tower, the Dangjin Veterans' Monument is another significant space in the park, honoring the souls of veterans from Dangjin who made noble sacrifices in the Korean War and Vietnam War.
Flanking the central monument are stone tablets inscribed with records and intentions of their service, and the flags of UN member countries that supported Korea during the Korean War are engraved on the side walls, adding a sense of international solidarity and gratitude.
The area around the veterans' monument is filled with names and records of the fierce battles and the heroes who fought them.
As you review the names of distinguished service members and their medals, you are reminded once again of their courage and dedication.
On one side of the National Love Park, there are benches where you can take a break from the sun, making it a pleasant place for a light stroll.
Whether in June, the month of national memorial, or any day of the year, I highly recommend visiting the National Love Park in Dangjin to remember the noble spirit of the fallen heroes.
