The 18th Gongju Seokjangni Paleolithic Festival

The Seokjangni site in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, is known as the starting point of Paleolithic research in South Korea.
As the country's first Paleolithic site, it has established itself not only for its academic value but also as a historical and cultural space where visitors can vividly experience prehistoric life.
Based on this historical significance, the Gongju Seokjangni Paleolithic Festival, held annually, has evolved beyond a simple local event into a representative cultural tourism festival that combines education, experience, and tourism.
This year's festival, marking its 18th edition, is themed 'Seokjangni: A Time Travel to Prehistory' and will offer a variety of programs that allow citizens and tourists to experience the lives of Paleolithic people through all five senses.
