The 13th Shinan Cheonil Salt National University Go Championship
A Special Competition Unfolding in the Home of Go, Shinan!
National university Go players gather in Shinan, the home of Go.
The 13th Shinan Cheonil Salt National University Go Championship
will be held from August 27 to 28
at the Shinan National Sports Center in Amtaemyeon.
A total of 104 participants, including 96 players and 8 officials from 32 universities nationwide,
will showcase their skills that they have honed over time.
Exciting matches will unfold across various categories!
The competition will be divided into
the top division, amateur division, advanced division, and a team event.
From individual matches testing each player's skills
to team events that require coordination,
intense and engaging competitions among university Go players are expected.
This year's tournament, marking its 13th edition,
has garnered significant interest from university Go players,
with applications closing early.
A Special Tournament with Professional Players
This tournament will feature
the renowned professional player Lee Sang-hoon,
brother of the famous Go player Lee Sedol, as the chief referee.
With professional players involved,
participants can expect a meaningful experience.

In line with its reputation,
Shinan County hosts various Go tournaments
