Immerse Yourself in Autumn at Cheonan Independence Hall's Maple Tree Forest Path

Located at 230-1 Namhwa-ri, Mokcheon-eup, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, the Independence Hall is renowned as a prime autumn foliage destination. The phrase 'Autumn at the Independence Hall's Maple Tree Forest Path' rolls off the tongue as easily as the many visitors it attracts.
Korean native maple trees, predominantly the Acer palmatum var. sanguineum (or 'red maple'), create a deep and vibrant crimson hue.
Every year, the hall holds a nighttime opening before the peak season, offering a chance to create special memories.
Entry to the Maple Tree Forest Path is free; you only need to pay for parking.
The parking fee is typically 2,000 won for standard-sized cars, 1,000 won for compact cars, and 3,000 won for larger vehicles.

I felt invigorated by taking an early morning walk here. The light filtering through the trees is beautiful, and the trail has a moderate level of difficulty with gentle slopes and ridges, making it a popular spot for seniors.
This place allows you to experience the history of Korea's liberation, along with the nation's roots and hope for the future. In addition to the forest path, visiting the Independence Hall itself can make for a truly meaningful experience.
After parking, most people start their walk to the right of the Tower of the Nation and descend on the opposite side.
When I started walking, the maple leaves in the Maple Tree Forest Path were already over 70% colored, making it truly beautiful.

This is one of Chungnam's representative autumn foliage spots, with a 3.2km walking path.
Note that Heukseong Mountain is currently closed for hiking due to fire precautions; only the Maple Tree Forest Path is accessible.
Since 1995, Independence Hall staff have carefully planted and cultivated approximately 1,200 maple trees, creating a long, tunnel-like forest path that is truly spectacular.

You absolutely must walk the Independence Hall's Maple Tree Forest Path in the fall.
Perhaps because they are native Korean red maples, the colors are deep and the red is more vivid, making them exceptionally beautiful.
Trees over 20 years old create a lush canopy that forms a tunnel, providing a cool and pleasant walking path.
Photo zones are located throughout the path, offering visitors enjoyable moments. I also had fun taking pictures at all the photo zones during my last walk.
The peak foliage season is expected to be around November 15-16, this week.
The area near the entrance of the Maple Tree Forest Path and the former Japanese Governor-General's building is particularly beautiful.
After seeing the Maple Tree Forest Path, be sure to visit the Garden of National Liberation, located on the right as you exit the Independence Hall.
A secret Metasequoia forest path is hidden there.
I visited for the first time this year and really enjoyed it.
I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a famous Metasequoia forest in Cheonan, but I was delighted to find this secret Metasequoia forest at the end of the Garden of National Liberation, located inside the Zelkova Tree Path of the Independence Hall. I enjoyed walking through the forest path.
