Exploring the Beauty of Sokrisan Theme Park in Boeun

Nestled at the foot of Sokrisan Mountain in Boeun, Chungcheongbuk-do, the Sokrisan Theme Park offers a chance to experience nature up close while enjoying various activities.
Surrounded by lush pine forests and mountain ridges, this park features family-friendly attractions such as a monorail, sky bike, and net experience facilities, making it an ideal spot for a day trip.
One of the first things you'll appreciate upon arrival is the ample parking space available. The Sokrisan Theme Park, officially known as Sokrisan eSports, provides easy access for visitors arriving by car.
This convenience reduces parking stress, especially when visiting with children or elderly parents, making the start of your trip much lighter.
At the entrance, informative sculptures and maps guide you through the park, and the neatly arranged flower pots and walking paths create a refreshing first impression.
The first experience I recommend at Sokrisan Theme Park is the monorail. Starting from the base station, the monorail ascends slowly along the forest path to Muktakbong Peak.
Inside the monorail, the rails weave through the trees, revealing the serene green mountainside. Even steep inclines that may be daunting for walking become accessible, allowing everyone to enjoy the stunning scenery of Sokrisan.
The round-trip fare for the monorail is 7,000 won for adults and 4,000 won for children. Operating hours start at 9:00 AM.
If you obtain a Jeongipum Boeun resident card, you can enjoy a 10% discount on the monorail fare and at the café.
Upon reaching Muktakbong Peak, a cozy café awaits for you to relax. Through its large windows, the mountain ridges unfold beautifully, and the bright, spacious atmosphere makes it perfect for enjoying a drink while taking in the view.
You can't mention Boeun without its famous jujubes, and the café is filled with their sweet aroma. Even amidst a busy schedule, time seems to slow down here, and the scenery warms your heart even before your coffee.
There's also a special space at Muktakbong, home to a 100-year-old apricot tree believed to grant wishes. Next to it, inscriptions like 'Sounds of the Muktak wishing for liberation from worries' and 'Sounds of compassion awakening the dignity of life' invite reflection.
Taking a moment to think of a wish at a travel destination creates lasting memories.
The rooftop viewing area around the café is also a must-visit. From the rooftop, you can use a telescope to get a closer look at the mountains of Sokrisan.
While the scenery is beautiful from afar, following the ridges and forests through the telescope reveals the depth of Sokrisan even more clearly.
For those seeking active experiences, the sky bike and net experience facilities are worth checking out. The sky bike, shaped like a red ladybug, runs along the rails through the forest, offering a unique thrill, while the net experience area features colorful net structures for children to enjoy physical activity.
Sokrisan Theme Park is a space where comfortable viewing and engaging activities harmoniously blend. Park your car in the spacious lot, ride the monorail up to Muktakbong, enjoy the café and rooftop views, and explore the sky bike and net facilities for a fulfilling day.
On my next visit, I hope to try the zip line.
As the season deepens in green, if you wish to experience the forests and scenery of Sokrisan up close, take your time to relax at the Boeun Sokrisan Theme Park.
