Hello!

I recently visited the Barrier-Free Sharing Trail located on Gamaksan Mountain.

The trail begins from the parking lot at the top of Gamaksan, taking a right turn.

The Barrier-Free Sharing Trail is a 2.6 km loop that starts at the entrance and leads to various viewpoints: Jirisan, Hapcheon Lake, Gayasan, and Deogyusan, before returning to the parking lot.

Additionally, there is a 0.6 km route from the Gayasan viewpoint to the sunrise spot at Gamaksan.

This trail was developed with the support of lottery funds to ensure that everyone, including the elderly, wheelchair users, and parents with strollers, can enjoy a safe and comfortable experience in the forest.

The facility was established by the Geochang County as part of the Green Infrastructure Project of the Korea Forest Welfare Institute.

The entrance to the trail is marked as Gamakgodo, indicating its elevation of 900 meters above sea level, making it the highest point in the country.

The Barrier-Free Sharing Trail is designed without stairs, allowing easy access for those with mobility challenges.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, I noticed many visitors exploring the area, even in the winter when flowers were absent.

The path at the beginning is made of cement, with handrails provided for support.

As expected in the mountains, camping and open fires are prohibited, and fire extinguishers are available at intervals.

As I continued walking, I soon arrived at the first viewpoint, the Jirisan viewpoint.

From here, you can see various peaks spanning five counties, including Bisong Mountain, Myeonbong, and Hwangmaesan.

It was enjoyable to match the viewpoint signs with the actual peaks.

There is also a side path leading to the Gamaksan relay station.

The next stop is the Hapcheon Lake viewpoint.

At the Gayasan viewpoint, there's an inscription from Mencius: "When I climb the hill, I realize how small my country is; when I climb the mountain, I see how small the world is. Therefore, those who have seen the ocean find it hard to speak of water, and those who dwell among sages find it hard to express themselves."

This viewpoint offers an unobstructed view, providing a refreshing sensation.

There is also a path leading to the sunrise spot from the Gayasan viewpoint.

If you don't wish to complete the loop, you can take this path down.

The Sharing Trail connects to the Gamaksan hiking trail.

The last viewpoint is Deogyusan, where you can see Baegunsan, Hwangseoksan, and Namdeogyusan.

Reaching this point means you've returned to the parking lot.

I walked with a friend, and it took us about an hour.

Last year, I walked part of the trail, but it was only partially completed, so we returned to the entrance.

This year, the entire loop around Gamaksan was finished.

Although winter doesn't offer much to see, I believe the trail will be enjoyable in spring when everything blooms.

If you arrive early in the morning, you can witness a spectacular sunrise.

In summer, the forest paths provide a cool and pleasant walking experience.

The trail is about an hour long, making it a great option for enjoying the scenery while exercising.

I highly recommend that anyone visiting Gamaksan take a walk along the Barrier-Free Sharing Trail.
