These days, summer seems to be getting longer, and the hot days continue. However, mornings and evenings are a bit cooler.

Even during the day, there are many shaded areas, making it pleasant to stroll through Namsan Health Park and enjoy the refreshing splash of the fountain.

Located across from the Dangjin Central Library, this park is perfect for a leisurely walk. It is frequently visited by Dangjin residents, making it an ideal spot to take a break after reading or studying at the library.

Recently, local governments have been creating parks for the convenience of residents, providing relaxing spaces for both locals and tourists to enjoy walks and exercise.

Namsan Health Park offers various health-related information to help citizens lead healthy lives and spend their leisure time effectively.

There are many parks in Dangjin, and this urban park is heavily utilized by the community.

The park was established in the late 1960s with tree planting, and it was designated as a park in 1986, serving as a relaxation space for Dangjin citizens and a venue for various events.

Residents living nearby can easily walk to the park, and those arriving by car can park in the lot on the right at the entrance. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a red telephone booth, resembling a piece of art.

At the entrance, there is a map of Namsan Health Park that helps visitors locate facilities and navigate the park easily, as the paths are not long and are accessible for everyone.

The park features two walking courses: Course 1 is 1,056 meters long, burning about 110-130 kcal, while Course 2 is 794 meters, burning 80-100 kcal. Depending on personal preference, Course 1, which leads towards the Dangjin Police Station and ends at the pedestrian bridge, might be the better option.

To the left at the park entrance, the red flowers of the baekdong tree blend beautifully with the surroundings. Visitors can also enjoy viewing the exhibited artworks, which are part of the Dangjin City Public Art Project.

As you walk along the path lined with daylilies, you will find painted benches that harmonize beautifully with the environment. There is also a flowerbed of daylilies blooming beautifully at the side of the ascending path.

Walking further in, you will encounter a piece titled 'The Witch's Journey,' which serves as a bench for people to rest on. Ascending the stairs leads to a spacious plaza with a pavilion at the entrance, providing a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view while chatting with friends.

Namsan Sports Park offers various sports facilities, making it easy for visitors to exercise. With plenty of green spaces and trees, walking under the shade is enjoyable even during the day. There is also a well-equipped playground for children.

The plaza features a splash fountain operational from July 5 to September 6, excluding Tuesdays and rainy days, with scheduled operations at 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM.

The refreshing water from the fountain is delightful, and children often run around in the water streams.

The park includes a splash fountain plaza, a traditional pavilion, an archery range, a gateball court, a cultural center, a children's playground, pavilions, benches, exercise equipment, and restrooms.

As you continue walking, you will find various exercise equipment, and the Dangjin Health Center promotes campaigns on moderation and smoking cessation through postings.

With many trees, you can experience a lush green environment. If you take the right path, you will arrive at a small plaza with an evergreen monument, which was established with government support to honor the spirit of patriotism represented by the independence activist and poet Shim Hoon.

In 1976, the monument was erected in memory of Shim Hoon, featuring a rectangular stone tower measuring 10 meters in height and 5 meters in base circumference. An inscription of his patriotic poem 'When That Day Comes' is engraved on the right side of the monument.

Surrounded by blooming baekdong trees, Namsan Health Park is a wonderful place for citizens to walk and enhance their health using the available exercise equipment. In summer, visitors can enjoy the coolness of the splash fountain while taking a leisurely stroll.
