Exciting News for Dangjin Residents: Seafood Purchase Refund Event

In these times of soaring grocery prices, a refreshing piece of news has arrived to help fill the lighter pockets of Dangjin citizens and invigorate the local economy. The city of Dangjin has ambitiously prepared the 'Seafood Purchase Refund Event' to promote the consumption of our seafood and revitalize traditional markets.
This event goes beyond simply tasting fresh domestic seafood from the rich waters of Dangjin at affordable prices; it offers a 'twofold benefit' where participants can receive a portion of their purchase amount back in the form of Dangjin Love Gift Certificates. It’s a smart consumption opportunity that not only fills your table with delicious seasonal seafood but also contributes to household finances! The Dangjin City press corps is here to provide you with essential information and details on how to participate in this refund event. Let's take a closer look!
The background of this event is planned to stabilize seafood prices and stimulate the local economy.
The event targets customers purchasing seafood at the Janggo Port Seafood Distribution Center and the Hanjin Port Fish Market.
If you purchase more than 25,000 KRW worth of domestic seafood at these locations, you will receive a refund in the form of Dangjin Love Gift Certificates based on the purchase amount. A refund of 5,000 KRW is given for purchases over 25,000 KRW, and a refund of 20,000 KRW for purchases over 100,000 KRW.
However, please note that the event periods differ for the Hanjin Port Fish Market and the Janggo Port Seafood Distribution Center.
The Hanjin Port Fish Market will run from April 18 to October 17, while the Janggo Port Seafood Distribution Center will be open from May 23 to October 25. You can visit the refund booth with your seafood purchase receipt between 10 AM and 6 PM.
One of the event locations, the 'Janggo Port Seafood Distribution Center,' is located in Janggo Port-ri, Seokmun-myeon. Designated as a national fishing port, Janggo Port is a modern seafood distribution space equipped with large facilities that allow for a clean and comfortable shopping experience regardless of the weather.
As the home of Dangjin's specialties like 'silchi' and 'ganjaemi,' it is also a place where you can find seasonal seafood at its freshest and most affordable.
The center features numerous neatly arranged seafood shops, making it convenient to select seafood. Additionally, the beautiful coastal scenery, including the rocky formations 'Nojeokbong' and 'Chotdaebawi,' is right next door, making it a great spot for family outings.
The second event location, the 'Hanjin Port Fish Market,' overlooks Hanjin-ri in Songak-eup. This historically prosperous port since the Joseon Dynasty is now famous for its open view of the West Sea Bridge.
While smaller than a large distribution center, the fish market retains the unique, poetic atmosphere of a port market. Every morning, fresh catch from local fishing boats, including natural fish and shellfish, attracts both local residents and tourists from the nearby metropolitan area. It's also a great place for evening strolls along the coastal deck.
This refund event offers the best chance to enjoy the freshness gifted by Dangjin’s blue sea. While it’s unfortunate that the traditional markets (fish markets) in Dangjin are excluded from this event, it presents an opportunity to discover the charm of Dangjin’s beautiful ports and harbors that you may not have visited often.
This weekend, why not head to Hanjin Port for a refreshing sea breeze or enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the national fishing port at Janggo Port? It’s a chance to fill your shopping basket lightly while bringing bright smiles to our local fishermen's faces. Be sure not to miss out on the fresh benefits offered by Dangjin's two seas before the budget runs out.
