In Myeoncheon-myeon, Dangjin-si, there is a space that brings together various facilities for residents to conveniently use in their daily lives.

Located in Seongsang-ri, the Vitality Baraji Welfare Center is part of a rural center revitalization project aimed at improving the convenience of local residents and providing a community space for shared use.

The building has two floors with a total area of 702.21㎡ and is operated by a social cooperative to ensure stable facility management and community activation.

Various activities promoting resident participation and community vitality are ongoing, and the center received recognition for its operational achievements by winning the Grand Prize at the Happy Rural Contest in 2024 and 2025.

On the first floor, there is a small bathhouse available for residents. With an area of approximately 187.2㎡, it features a hot bath, cold bath, sauna, and changing rooms, providing convenient bathing facilities for rural residents who previously had difficulty accessing such amenities.

Currently, the bathhouse is temporarily closed for summer maintenance and is scheduled to reopen on September 15.

On the second floor, visitors can find the Myeoncheon Eupseong Small Library. This small library, registered with the Dangjin City Library, serves as a cultural space where local residents can read books and relax.

It operates from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with a lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM when access is limited.

The library offers a spacious area for reading and exploring materials. Contrary to its name, the small library provides a comfortable environment suitable for quiet reading.

Notably, the interior is designed to reflect the historical atmosphere of Myeoncheon Eupseong, allowing visitors to experience the local characteristics while enjoying books.

In addition, the library features a space dedicated to exploring the history and figures of Myeoncheon, including the study of Yeonam Park Ji-won, a prominent scholar and writer from the late Joseon Dynasty.

The small library houses a total of 2,034 books, including 1,002 general books and 1,032 children's books, along with two periodicals, catering to both adults and children.

The library has over 1,000 children's books and a cozy area specifically designed for children to freely access and enjoy reading.

The center also hosts activities aimed at promoting healthy living among residents, including screenings of videos related to suicide prevention, encouraging community members to check in on each other and support those in need.

On the second floor, there is a Dream Tree Shelter for children and a shared office called Myeoncheon Lounge, which is available for free use by anyone.

The Vitality Baraji Welfare Center is not just a single-function space. It encompasses various facilities, from bathing amenities to a small library for reading and cultural activities, a childcare area, and a shared office for workations.

This center significantly enhances the convenience of local residents and serves as a space for community interaction and engagement.

If you visit Myeoncheon, the Vitality Baraji Welfare Center is a great place to take a break.
