For children, experiencing traffic safety firsthand is more memorable than just listening to explanations.
The Dangjin Children's Traffic Park, located at the Dangjin Comprehensive Sports Complex,
is a space where children can learn safety rules by experiencing various traffic situations they encounter in daily life.
The park operates from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM,
with closed days on Mondays and January 1st, as well as during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok.
Educational programs can be applied for through the Lifelong Learning Portal,
Baum Naru, integrated with Dangjin City’s lifelong learning platform.
Children aged 3 to 5 can participate in groups of 4 to 20,
allowing friends to plan experiences together as well.
In the indoor experience area, children can learn how to cross the street safely using traffic lights and crosswalks.
By repeating the process of checking the traffic lights,
they can learn the basic pedestrian rules that must be followed on actual roads.
In the traffic sign education, children will explore the meanings of signs commonly encountered on the road.
Each sign has different shapes and colors,
and conveys various meanings.
By checking the signs directly,
they will learn what each one means and the promises they must keep on the road.
During the bicycle and kickboard experience, children can ride while solving safety rule questions displayed on the screen.
They will understand that bicycles and kickboards, which they usually use for play,
are means of transportation on the road,
and learn the safety rules to follow while using them.
In the school bus experience, children can board a vehicle, wear seat belts,
and learn about points to be cautious of when using a school bus through safety training videos.
The blind spot experience allows children to look around a vehicle from their eye level,
checking areas that may not be visible to drivers.
Additionally, they can watch traffic safety-related videos in the 3D theater,
experiencing safety education in various ways.
Afterward, they can move to the outdoor area where a traffic experience zone is set up with small roads, traffic lights, and signs.
By using mini cars and bicycles, children can experience traffic situations from the perspective of both pedestrians and drivers,
and confirm what they learned indoors in a space similar to actual roads.
The park also operates as a family-friendly bicycle park,
where they can practice balancing and basic riding skills.
This space allows children to easily understand traffic order by first learning the basics indoors,
then moving outside to practice.
There is also a playground where children can take a break from their education and play.
The Dangjin Children's Traffic Park is a place where children can learn traffic safety through experiences and play.
