A Visit to the Canola Flower Fields in Gyeongnam Geochang

I recently visited the canola flower fields located in Daepyeong-ri, Geochang, Gyeongnam, which I often pass by while driving.
The visit took place on April 22, 2026, and the canola flowers were in full bloom.
It seems that they will be worth seeing until the end of April.
There is a path running through the middle of the flower fields, making it easy to take photos as you walk through.
Wearing colorful clothes against the backdrop of the bright yellow canola flowers will surely make for stunning pictures!
The location is near the Daepyeong-ri rotary, and locals might recognize it better as being across from Bak Soon Restaurant.
This place is also great for walking with dogs, so I recommend it for anyone looking for pet-friendly spots in Geochang.
Strolling through the canola fields allowed me to enjoy the simple pleasures of a sunny April day.
The language of the canola flower symbolizes hope, cheerfulness, and brightness, and I believe it is the flower that most vividly represents spring.
Young canola leaves can be eaten as greens, and canola oil is used to produce canola oil.
If you're planning to visit Geochang in April to see the flowers, I highly recommend the canola flower fields in Daepyeong-ri.
Next to the canola fields, there is also an aronia field, where you can enjoy the beauty of aronia flowers as well.
I also stopped by the Daepyeong-ri Meeting Square, located across from the canola flower fields.
This area felt like a smaller version of the Meeting Square near Geochang IC.
Here, the pink azaleas were in full bloom, creating a perfect spring atmosphere.
There are plenty of benches, making it a nice spot to take a break.
When I first moved to Geochang, I noticed that people of all ages ride bicycles frequently, reaffirming my impression of it as a bicycle-friendly city.
The bicycle safety education center provides clear explanations of the safety rules to follow while cycling.
Bicycles are classified as 'vehicles' under road traffic laws, which means they must follow the right-hand traffic rules and are not allowed to ride on pedestrian-only paths.
Speeding and driving under the influence are also punishable offenses, so caution is necessary.
In the storage next to the bicycle safety education theory room, there were many bicycles for educational purposes.
The Geochang bicycle safety education center is larger than expected, making it a suitable place for teaching children who are learning to ride.
Various traffic signs are installed, allowing for realistic training scenarios.
It's also good to note that cyclists should dismount and walk their bicycles at crosswalks.
If you visit Geochang, be sure to stop by the canola flower fields near the Daepyeong-ri Meeting Square.
For those needing bicycle practice, the bicycle safety education center is also worth visiting.
