The rich October season brings the harvest of various grains in the Dangjin Plain.

We enjoyed a special time at Myeoncheon Fortress.

During the festival held from October 10th (Saturday) to 11th (Sunday),

the autumn breeze filled our hearts with excitement.

At the festival, we experienced healing amidst the autumn vibes.

Various performances took place on the main stage and within the fortress walls.

We enjoyed beautiful exhibitions of traditional Bangjja brassware.

As we took a moment to rest from the hard work of farming,

we embraced the abundance that autumn brings,

celebrating with joy and diverse flavors.

This festival, blending history, nature, and local specialties of Dangjin,

was truly delightful!

Surrounded by nature beginning to change colors,

the festival unfolded beautifully.

It was wonderful to spend a comfortable time in a place that is both historic and natural.

I first wandered around Myeoncheon Fortress,

taking a trip down memory lane.

Visitors with pets were also present,

enjoying the stunning views from the fortress walls while strolling,

and participating in busking performances inside the walls.

Within Myeoncheon Fortress, there was also the Dangjin Sinpyeong Blacksmith Shop,

where we could experience the sounds of Bangjja brassware.

This traditional brassware, made by hammering heated brass pieces,

is durable and shines beautifully.

The sound experience of Bangjja brassware was truly special.

Next, I visited the Myeoncheon Memory Warehouse,

a retro cultural space and youth startup site remodeled from an old agricultural cooperative warehouse built in 1970.

Looking at old photos of Myeoncheon evoked memories.

I also received a keyring engraved with the Myeoncheon Fortress logo.

There’s a cozy café right above the warehouse for a relaxing break.

The main stage of the festival is located under a natural monument,

a ginkgo tree over 1,100 years old, symbolizing the history of Dangjin.

Many people wrote their wishes on yellow and green ginkgo leaves,

hoping for peace and safety.

We could also create traditional hand fans, experience straw craft, and enjoy exhibitions.

Various experience booths were set up throughout the festival,

allowing us to engage with diverse local specialties.

There were experiences like making gochujang (red pepper paste) and crafting mugs.

We also had the opportunity to try natural dyeing, creating items like hoods and scarves.

It was a delightful time tasting local foods and traditional drinks.

Families enjoyed watching cotton candy performances.

Various items were available for purchase throughout the festival.

It was wonderful to create my own calligraphy.

Even though the festival has ended, the retro streets and wonderful places in Dangjin Myeoncheon Fortress are worth visiting.

The Myeoncheon cold noodle dish was a delightful addition to the journey.

This is a place where the heart can linger.
