Actress Kim Hee-sun has taken on her first-ever 'permed hairstyle' for the new drama 'Because There's No Next Life' (first broadcast on TV CHOSUN, November 10th).
In the released stills, Kim Hee-sun has perfectly transformed into a 'realistic mom' overwhelmed by childcare and housework, instead of her past glamorous image as a show host.
She said, “I decided to put aside looking pretty,” and added, “I wanted to capture the realistic image of a mother with a tightly permed hairstyle, baggy clothes, and an unadorned face.”
“The emotions I felt while taking a 6-year break from acting resemble Jo Na-jung.”
In the drama, Kim Hee-sun plays Jo Na-jung, a former show host with a six-figure salary who quit her job to raise her two sons. She portrays a character who struggles to return to society after her career break, creating a realistic sense of empathy.
Kim Hee-sun said, “The emotions I felt while taking a 6-year break from acting after marriage resembled Jo Na-jung. My concerns at that time are reflected in this character.”
She also added, “Jo Na-jung is the brightest and most energetic character I have ever played. I am very attached to her because she closely resembles my actual personality and 말투.”
What kind of drama is 'Because There's No Next Life'?
'Because There's No Next Life' is a comedic coming-of-age story about three 41-year-old friends who are exhausted by childcare, work, and relationships, and decide to reset their lives.
It tells the story of realistic mothers who challenge themselves again with the mindset of “Let’s live this life well,” even in their repetitive daily lives.
In addition to Kim Hee-sun, the drama aims to deliver comfort and courage to viewers with a 'complete life project' that captures the empathy of realistic women.
