1st Round Mission
The mission for the first round was to create a signature bread that represents the baker's identity.
The bakers had to create their signature bread and receive evaluations from the judges.
To pass the first round, they needed to receive a majority of passing votes from the five judges.
1st Round Mission Passers
Jeong Jeong-hoon (Baker Leader of Mangwon-dong) → Enthusiast of Root Crops
Jeong Nam-mi (Baker from the Mill) → Root Crop Bread Set
Lee Kyung-moo (Dessert Macho) → Ambroise
Lim Dong-seok (Master of Sales) → Salt Ciabatta
Hwang Ji-o (Crazy Pastry Chef) → Ballerina
1st Round Mission Failures
Kim Eun-hee (Garlic Goddess of Gwangjang Market) → Truffle Garlic Cream Bread
Na Soo-ji (Heart Maker) → Heart Tiramisu
Bang Joon-ho (Jamsil Man Gyeobnam) → Gyeob Croissant
Kim Young-sik (Butter Man of Yeonnam-dong) → Papa Soufflé
Oh Se-seong (Baking Teacher) → Pistachio Apple Saint-Honoré
The Baking Teacher received the first-ever rejection of a dish in the show's history.
The judges noted that the caramel color of the shoe was off,
the caramel was undercooked, and the cream texture was lacking.
The overall harmony did not meet the standards, resulting in a harsh review and a rejection decision.
Such a cold evaluation early on made it clear how fierce this season would be.
From the first broadcast, the scale of the participants, the difficulty of the missions, and the judging criteria made it evident that this program truly lives up to its title of Baking Battle Black and White Chef.
We are looking forward to what kind of breads will come out in the future.
