Breakfast Experience at The Botanic Hotel in Myeongdong
서울특별시 중구 을지로19길 23-1
호텔 더 보타닉 세운 명동

The breakfast at The Botanic Hotel in Myeongdong is located on basement level 2 and is accessible from both A and B buildings, making it easy to find even on the first visit.
With a mix of Western-style buffet items and a few Asian options, the experience feels practical rather than luxurious, suitable for trying once during a multi-day stay.
While the price feels acceptable by Seoul standards, the variety is limited, leaving an impression that is neither disappointing nor especially memorable.
Location and breakfast hours at The Botanic Hotel
The breakfast restaurant is positioned on B2, tucked into the left corner of the basement, and can be reached from both hotel buildings without confusion.
Breakfast service runs from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, which works well for travelers with early schedules or full sightseeing days planned.
Pricing details and reservation experience
I booked breakfast at a discounted rate, as paying the full price did not seem worthwhile unless you are not visiting from overseas.
Refunds are not available after payment, and for my visit, the cost was 18,000 KRW per adult and 15,000 KRW for a child, totaling three adults and one child.
After payment, meal coupons are issued and must be submitted at the restaurant entrance.
First impressions and main buffet stations
Upon entering, the waffle station immediately stands out on the left, offering whipped cream and chocolate syrup for a simple but comforting start.
Next to it is a live cooking station where omelets and fried eggs are prepared. Orders are completed in about five minutes, with boiled eggs also readily available.
Cereal, bread, and basic sides
The cereal section includes four options such as chocolate, corn, almond, and granola, paired with both low-fat and regular milk.
Nearby, there is a bread selection featuring toast, morning buns, and cookies, with jam, butter, ham, and cheese arranged separately for convenience.
Asian-style options and unexpected highlights
A bibimbap corner is available, but I skipped it due to the oily vegetables and rice that did not feel properly cooked.
More impressive was the self-serve pho station. Despite not usually enjoying pho, the broth was surprisingly rich and flavorful.
You can place noodles and vegetables into a cooking net, wait about two minutes, then add broth and seasoning to finish it yourself.
Hot dishes and foreign guest favorites
In addition to omelets and French fries, spicy chicken stir-fried noodles were offered and appeared especially popular among foreign guests.
Baked sausages, crab fried rice, vegetable porridge, and two kinds of cream soup rounded out the hot food selection.
Drinks, coffee, and overall dining atmosphere
On the right side of the central table, drinks such as water, apple juice, orange juice, and grape juice are neatly arranged.
The coffee machine is located nearby, with chilled milk provided for lattes or hot milk, both of which tasted better than expected.
Final thoughts on value and recommendation
After settling in and finishing the meal, the overall experience felt average, not bad but not particularly impressive either.
I would recommend trying the breakfast at least once during a four-day stay, but it does not feel cost-effective enough for daily visits.
Given Seoul’s high living costs, the price is understandable, though the limited selection may leave frequent guests wanting more.
