A Delightful Trip to Seoul
서울특별시 종로구 창경궁로27길 54
달스테이혜화

This stay at Hotel Dalsstay near Hyehwa Station came from an unexpected family day off, planned around watching a play in Hyehwa-dong.
The review focuses on real considerations like parking choices, walkability, kiosk-based check-in, and room comfort for a short stay with a child.
If you want a simple, clean, and theater-friendly hotel within walking distance of Hyehwa venues, this experience offers a practical reference.
Choosing a hotel near Hyehwa Station for a theater trip
Hello, this is Sally, always experiencing good things.
When my husband suddenly had a day off, we decided to visit Seoul with our youngest, J, and planned our schedule around Hyehwa-dong.
Since we were going to see a play, our priority was finding accommodation within a ten-minute walk from the theaters near Hyehwa Station.
Why Hotel Dalsstay stood out during the search
While searching for hotels and Airbnbs around Hyehwa Station, Hotel Dalsstay felt like a good balance between location and simplicity.
It is close enough to walk comfortably to theaters and venues, which was the deciding factor for us.
Parking options and what to know in advance
Before arriving, I contacted the hotel to ask about parking.
There is no dedicated parking lot, but the staff kindly guided us to nearby paid parking options.
Two parking lots were recommended, both within walking distance.
Comparing nearby paid parking lots
The Amano Parking Lot at the Myeongryun Building is closer, but it resets charges at midnight, meaning overnight stays can result in two full-day fees.
The Cafe24 Startup Center underground parking applies a 24-hour rate based on entry time.
For that reason, we chose the Cafe24 Startup Center parking lot.
Walking to the hotel and luggage considerations
After parking, we moved our luggage to Hotel Dalsstay, which took less than five minutes on foot.
The hotel sits on a slope and requires climbing some stairs, which could be challenging with large suitcases.
Luckily, we packed light for this trip and had no issues.
Unmanned check-in experience with a kiosk
I didn’t realize beforehand that Hotel Dalsstay is an unmanned hotel.
Check-in is done through a kiosk where you enter your reservation details and receive your room key card.
Check-out is handled the same way, making the process quick and straightforward.
Shared lounge amenities
Next to the kiosk, there is a small self-service lounge bar with a water dispenser and microwave.
We only stayed one night and didn’t use the microwave, but it would be useful for longer stays.
Room layout, cleanliness, and comfort
The room had a compact studio-style layout, ideal for two adults.
I booked the room for three adults, and although it was a bit snug, it felt perfectly fine for a one-night stay.
The room included one double bed and an additional bedding set, with amenities neatly packaged.
Warm response and a good night’s sleep
After returning late at night, the room felt a little cold.
I messaged the host asking to increase the heating, and they responded quickly, which I truly appreciated.
The room stayed warm through the night, and I slept very comfortably.
Location benefits for theater lovers
The biggest advantage of Hotel Dalsstay is its location.
Theaters and performance venues around Hyehwa are all within a ten-minute walk.
This made it incredibly convenient for our schedule and removed any stress about transportation.
Would I stay here again?
For a short stay focused on performances in Hyehwa-dong, this hotel met our needs well.
I would definitely choose Hotel Dalsstay again when returning to Hyehwa Station to watch another play.
