I booked the Shilla Hotel for the last night of my recent trip to Jeju Island.

Among the hotels in Jungmun, the Shilla Hotel is one of the oldest and also on the pricier side. We debated between Lotte, Chosun, and others, but ultimately decided to experience this classic hotel first.

In today's post, I'll be sharing my room review and tips for the swimming pool.

My husband and I are light eaters, so we didn't opt for the buffet. Therefore, I won't be reviewing it!

Jeju Shilla Hotel

Standard Double Mountain View

Check-in: 3:00 PM, Check-out: 11:00 AM

We used the Shilla Hotel parking lot address for navigation.

Parking was free without any specific verification.

As we approached the entrance with our luggage, we saw a single-story building entrance.

A bellboy (is that the right term?) took care of our luggage and later brought it to our room.

I think in other 5-star hotels, I had to bring my luggage to the room myself.

(I'm touched by this... I'm too easily impressed...)

It's incredible that the building is actually seven stories despite appearing to be a single-story from the entrance!

I always find this structure fascinating.

The check-in counter was busy, so they helped us check in at the bar, which was quick and easy.

We put down a 100,000 KRW deposit with a credit card.

We were assigned to the 6th floor, where the check-in is located.

Standard Double Mountain View

Here's the assigned mountain view.

Honestly, there wasn't much to it besides the mountain view, so I guess I didn't take any pictures.

There were no obstructions in the view, and the layout ensured privacy as it didn't face other rooms.

The Jeju Shilla Hotel uses a tasteful combination of pastel mint and pink.

The use of wood and rattan furniture creates a Mediterranean resort-like atmosphere.

I can see why some people say the furniture is old and worn, but I found it surprisingly not at all outdated.

Oh! But the TV doesn't have OTT services...

Samsung TVs are great these days... I hope they upgrade...

And the bedding is incredibly comfortable!

It was the most comfortable among the hotels I've stayed at.

So, I bought a pillow from the company that supplies Shilla Hotel when I got home (Kibong Enterprise).

All the leather items were unified in this light beige color, achieving both modernity and luxury.

Overall, the Shilla Hotel felt like a feminine villa meticulously cared for by an elegant elderly lady.

Here are the amenities and mini-bar.

The Jeju Shilla Hotel provides multi-use amenities.

Disposable items include a comb, shower cap, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a hairbrush.

On the vanity, there are mini-bar tea, snacks, and the disposable body kit shown in the picture.

Be careful because that kit is charged as soon as it's opened!

Badang

After unpacking and taking a short nap, we went out for coffee.

This is Badang, located in the lobby on the 6th floor.

It was afternoon, so the mango shaved ice and mango desserts were all sold out.

We just ordered two coffees and a dessert.

They also give you a madeleine with your coffee.

You can charge it to your room or pay on the spot.

I'm not sure if there's a set time for the performance, but just as we arrived for coffee,

a violin and harp (is that right?) performance began.

Listening to the beautiful music while drinking coffee made me feel like I was in another world...

Like I could achieve anything...

(In reality, I'm trudging to the office with a Baekdabang coffee...)

After coffee and a short walk, we headed to the pool.

Shilla Hotel Pool Tips

The pool is only available for hotel guests.

The pool is well-equipped with facial/body towels, kickboards, and children's tubes.

Just bring your bathrobe from your room.

The outdoor pool is divided into a family pool and an adult pool.

Seating options include sunbeds and cabanas.

The family pool (general pool) has sunbeds and family cabanas.

Sunbeds: Free, reservation required, can be booked through Catch Table or QR code. If you don't book as soon as you check in, there may be no availability.

Family Cabanas: Varying costs depending on the time slot, only 3 available, so advance reservation is necessary (includes food and beverages).

The adult pool has Petit Cabanas and daybeds.

They are also available for use by the hour.

If you plan to drink beer, I recommend booking a Petit Cabana as it includes beer.

Petit Cabana: 2 hours, 33,000 KRW, includes 2 beers, advance reservation required.

Daybed: 2 hours, 22,000 KRW, can be reserved on-site.

We used a daybed instead of a Petit Cabana.

The Petit Cabana looked better because it had something to block the side...

And when everyone else was eating Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), I didn't feel like it, so I ordered pizza.

It wasn't good... I guess there's a reason it's not popular.

Happy Time

Precious Memory

Still, the Shilla Hotel is the best.

There's a reason why people praise the Shilla Hotel.

The staff's attitude and service were exceptional.

I enjoyed the luxurious atmosphere and cleanliness of the hotel, and I felt well taken care of.

(The only downside is... no convenience store... If you need anything, buy it in advance...)

And I bought one share of Shilla Hotel stock when I got home.

It went up +13%, so I'm happily writing this review. The end.
