Spring Outing Recommendation: Mugunghwa Arboretum in Boryeong, Chungnam
In May, when the warm spring breeze blows, I visited the Mugunghwa Arboretum in Boryeong, Chungnam.
This arboretum is famous for its beautiful Mugunghwa blossoms in summer, but in spring, it is renowned for its pure white flower tunnel created by pear blossoms and Korean spirea.
From the snowy white flowers to the walking paths, exhibition halls, and lakes, I had a wonderful time healing and exploring this spring outing course in Boryeong!

The parking lot was bustling with visitors enjoying the spring outing, especially on weekends! Despite being relatively spacious, it was nearly full due to its popularity.
During the flower season in April and May, I recommend visiting early in the day. The entrance to the arboretum is conveniently connected next to the parking lot.
As soon as I entered, the first thing that caught my eye was the colorful tulips in bloom.
The map next to the entrance showed that the walking paths were designed for a leisurely stroll around the entire arboretum. Inside, there are lakes and expansive areas, making it a great place for a light walk.
As I walked along the path, I was surrounded by lush green landscapes. There are pavilions along the way where you can take a break and enjoy the scenery. The Metasequoia path was particularly impressive!
As I walked beneath the towering trees, I felt a wonderful sense of healing.
Following the walking path, I came across a large exhibition hall on the right. This is the Boryeong Mugunghwa Arboretum Exhibition Hall!
Inside, I learned about 'The Stories of Mugunghwa We Didn't Know,' exploring the history and various types of this flower that symbolizes our country.
I discovered that Mugunghwa has been blooming in our land for over 2,500 years. There is also a photo zone decorated in an old-fashioned style, perfect for capturing memories with children.
After passing the exhibition hall, I entered the expansive arboretum space, featuring the 'Purification Pond' at its center. Petals gently floated on the calm surface, creating a picturesque atmosphere.
The walking paths are designed with gentle slopes, making it accessible for strollers and wheelchair users. Thanks to the barrier-free paths, it is a place everyone can visit without worries.
Finally, I encountered the highlight of the Boryeong Mugunghwa Arboretum: the pear blossom and Korean spirea flower tunnel. The branches of these trees reached toward each other, forming a white flower tunnel that sparkled in the sunlight, reminiscent of walking on a snow-covered path.
As I strolled, taking photos and pausing to admire the scenery, I found myself spending quite a bit of time in this beautiful section, making it a memorable experience unique to spring.
The Boryeong Mugunghwa Arboretum is an attractive spring destination where you can enjoy flower viewing, walking, and exhibitions all in one place.
Especially the pure white flower tunnel created by the pear blossoms and Korean spirea was stunning, whether captured in photos or experienced in person.
