Family Month Events at Munsan Library

From Kids Concerts to Puppy Book Exhibitions!
Munsan Library's Family Month Program
Hello!
Today, I would like to introduce the 'Kids Concert on the Lawn: Classical vs. Korean Traditional Music' held on May 16th at the outdoor lawn of Munsan Library,
and the ongoing exhibition 'Puppy Stories in Books' in the children's section on the second floor of the library!
As this event was held in May, the month of families, it was heartwarming and vibrant, allowing families from children to parents to enjoy together.
Let me share the lively atmosphere from my visit!
Special Performance Enjoyed on the Lawn: 'Classical vs. Korean Traditional Music' Kids Concert
This performance took place on May 16th from 4 PM to 5 PM in the outdoor lawn of Munsan Library!
The concert was titled 'Kids Concert on the Lawn: Classical vs. Korean Traditional Music.'
It featured a unique stage combining Western classical instruments like cello and keyboard with Korean traditional instruments like haegeum and gayageum.
Despite the hot weather on the day of the event, many families spread out their mats and enjoyed the performance under umbrellas!
Sitting on the lawn and appreciating the music looked incredibly relaxed and peaceful.
The sight of children and parents laughing and talking while enjoying the concert truly captured the spirit of Family Month.
During the performance, there was also a quiz time to engage the children's attention!
It was impressive to see the kids eagerly raising their hands to participate.
The concert was not just a passive experience; it was designed for children to actively participate and enjoy.
Along with classical pieces like Canon Variations, various songs that children love were performed!
Especially when the OST 'Golden' from the animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' and the popular girl group IVE's 'I AM' were played, the children began to sing along loudly.
It was adorable to see them gathered together like chicks singing along.
The concert made classical and traditional genres, which might seem difficult, accessible and enjoyable for children!
There was also a booth by author Shin Ju-hee!
Near the performance area, there was a booth by Shin Ju-hee, author of works like 'Young and Eternal' and 'Waste Disposal.'
She wrote names and kind messages on beautiful postcards, creating special memories.
I even received a lovely diary as a gift!
Additionally, she introduced upcoming programs as a resident author at Munsan Library, including reading groups and essay writing for adults.
If you're interested, it would be great to participate!
Exhibition 'Puppy Stories in Books'
On the second floor of Munsan Library, in the children's section, the exhibition 'Puppy Stories in Books' is also ongoing!
This exhibition features a variety of children's books, from warm picture books starring puppies to books that teach proper pet care.
It provides a great opportunity for children to naturally learn about the value of animals and life and get closer to books.
For kids who love puppies, visiting with their parents to read books would create wonderful memories.
The Munsan Library program was more than just a concert and exhibition; it was a time for families to laugh, enjoy, and create memories together.
Especially, the 'Classical vs. Korean Traditional Music' kids concert allowed children to experience a unique cultural experience and provided parents with a relaxing break.
Also, visiting the ongoing exhibition 'Puppy Stories in Books' enriched the experience even more.
Various programs are being held at libraries in Paju, including Munsan Library!
