Sky Park and Noeul Park are being transformed into even more attractive healing spaces through the opening of the Metasequoia Path and the creation of observation areas.
What changes can we expect at Seoul World Cup Park?
The city of Seoul is developing Sky Park and Noeul Park into representative healing parks of the northwest region, where visitors can enjoy walking, running, scenic views, and relaxation together.☘️
By expanding the Metasequoia Path, gardens, rest areas, and observation spaces, the parks will become more pleasant green leisure spaces.
How will the walking course along the Metasequoia Path change?
The Metasequoia Forest Path at Noeul Park is one of the key changes! The previously closed 1.0 km section of the Metasequoia Path will be newly opened from May 22!
As a result, the 'World Cup Park Metasequoia Path' will be completed at a total length of 2.3 km.✨
✔ Deck roads will be installed at the start and end points of the Noeul Metasequoia Path.
✔ Rest areas with benches will be provided throughout the path.
The creation of deck roads, rest areas, and the Z-shaped stairs on the south side of Sky Park will improve accessibility from Nanji Han River Park to Sky Park, enhancing the accessibility of Seoul's forest paths and parks.
How will the running courses and rest areas be developed?
A linear garden connecting Sky Park and Noeul Park has been newly created along the walking path, featuring flowers and greenery.
The city of Seoul will create gardens at 10 major entry points, with rest areas at 4 of these locations, allowing runners and citizens to walk, run, and take breaks.
At the back entrance of Noeul Park, an art painting area of 432㎡ has been added with various plantings like red plum and hydrangea, enhancing the park's pleasant atmosphere.
From June, visitors can enjoy the scenery of yellow flowers and the Han River view along the Morus Alba Forest Path in Noeul Park.
How will the Han River view and scenic forest change?
The city is establishing and renovating four observation areas at the top of Sky Park and Noeul Park, and has opened part of the middle road to create two additional rest areas.
Enjoy the Han River skyline from the observation areas at Sky Park, extending to World Cup Bridge, Seongsan Bridge, and Yeouido.
The observation area at Noeul Park offers panoramic views of the southwestern urban landscape of Seoul.
Additionally, on the southern slope of World Cup Park, invasive plants like prickly pear and Japanese maple will be removed, and beautiful flowering trees such as cherry blossom, Ippeon tree, and azaleas will be planted, creating a seasonal ecological landscape forest.
Sky Park is scheduled to be completed in June 2026, while Noeul Park is set for completion in the second half of the year.
