Delicious Korean Desserts: A Journey Through Cooking Classes

Crafted with Care: Our Culinary Delights
Korean Dessert Class in Paju
Hello!
On a spring day filled with blooming flowers, I attended a Korean dessert class organized by the Paju Agricultural Technology Center.
The classes are held monthly with various themes as part of the 2026 Paju Agricultural Product Consumption Promotion Education!
For those interested, please refer to the schedule below!
The training consisted of three sessions held every Thursday.
The first class focused on making flower rice cakes on a rainy spring day.
Upon arrival, we checked in, signed the attendance sheet, and received the recipes for the day's class.
As we read through the ingredients and steps, we waited for all participants to arrive before starting.
The instructor demonstrated the process, and after the demonstration, we used the prepared ingredients to practice ourselves.
We made rice cakes with Paju DMZ apple jam and decorated them with natural ingredients to create beautiful colors and shapes.
From hydrating the rice flour to steaming the cakes and crafting colorful flowers, we ended up with stunning flower rice cakes.
The instructor skillfully created petals and leaves, and I was amazed by their talent.
With the ingredients prepared at each table, we steamed the rice cakes and added various colors to create visually appealing treats.
The creativity and skills of the participants were impressive!
After the practical session, we gathered our creations, and it truly felt like a flower festival.
I took the rice cakes home to share with my family, and they were delicious due to the quality ingredients provided.
The kids were curious about the edible flowers and enjoyed them immensely.
On the second training day, thankfully, the weather was nice.
The theme was flower honey rice cakes.
After enjoying our flower cakes, I was excited to see how beautiful and tasty the honey rice cakes would be.
After checking in and receiving the recipe, we followed the same format with the instructor's demonstration before practicing at our tables.
Using natural ingredients again, we adjusted the dough's consistency and colors according to the ingredients.
The adorable honey rice cakes came together beautifully.
From flower shapes to pumpkins and peaches, the variety was stunning.
We learned how to wrap our creations nicely in cloth for presentation.
Everyone quickly made beautiful rice cakes, and we took plenty of photos, filled with excitement and joy.
The final class focused on making 'Gae-Sung Juak', a traditional fried snack.
We learned to incorporate Paju apple juice into the syrup for a unique flavor.
This class required careful attention to temperature and consistency, making it the most challenging.
The decorations included beautiful dried apples, adding to the visual appeal.
The completed Gae-Sung Juak looked delicious and inviting.
The focus was more on the making process than the decoration this time.
The training concluded after three weeks, filled with useful and enjoyable experiences.
If you're interested, I encourage you to sign up for the remaining classes for a wonderful experience!
