In celebration of the 81st anniversary of Liberation Day, the city of Seoul will host a variety of events from August 13 to 16, 2026, including bell-ringing ceremonies, historical explorations, children's activities, performances, and exhibitions.

Through theater, concerts, and traditional Hanok performances at the Seoul Outdoor Library, we will reflect on the meaning of Liberation Day and remember the history and significance of our freedom.

Various events will take place across Seoul, including family experiences, performances, and exhibitions, allowing participants to engage directly with the history and meaning of liberation.

On Saturday, August 15, the actual Liberation Day, a special bell-ringing ceremony will be held with the descendants of independence activists, honoring the sacrifices of our ancestors and sharing the joy of liberation with citizens.

Alongside the bell-ringing ceremony, commemorative performances and citizen participation programs will also be available.
