On a cool October evening, the Nodeul Island sparkles with light!
Hyunmoo visited the 2026 Seoul Light Han River Festival, which features a landscape quite different from the usual Nodeul Island.
The festival showcases laser art set against the backdrop of the Han River, along with media art and light installations scattered throughout the area, accompanied by music and performances.
This year’s theme is 'Rhapsody of Light,' presenting various works that express the energies of water, fire, soil, air, and life through light.

Nodeul Island is illuminated!
The festival is the largest water-side laser and light media art festival in Korea, now in its fourth year, showcasing immersive media art that expresses the energies of the Han River.
Event Schedule: October 2nd (Friday) to October 11th (Sunday) for ten days.
Location: Nodeul Island Water Culture Space.
This year, the Nodeul Island Water Culture Space has transformed in conjunction with the 'Nodeul Global Art Island' project, featuring exciting new media art!
How to get to the festival? Hyunmoo took the shuttle bus from the Sin-Yongsan Station!
During the festival, a shuttle bus and special cruise services are available for easy access to Nodeul Island.
Shuttle Bus Schedule: 6 PM to 10 PM, running every 15 minutes.
Route: Sin-Yongsan Station Exit 4 → Nodeul Island → Nodeul Station Exit 2 → Noryangjin Station Exit 3.

2026 Seoul Light Han River Festival: Exhibition Overview!
Hyunmoo plans to follow the recommended exhibition route to enjoy the festival!
Outdoor Exhibits include the 'Garden of Memory,' which visualizes changes and overlaps of memory through dichroic structures, light, and sound.
Next is the 'Pavilion of Light,' where bubbles, lasers, and lighting captivated Hyunmoo's heart!
Indoor Exhibits can be found in the Nodeul Gallery, showcasing the relationship between light and space through lighting structures.
Don’t miss the 'Companion Light' and 'Light Island Lecture' events featuring performances and mini-lectures on light, technology, and the universe.
After exploring the main exhibition 'Firmamento,' which immerses visitors in a soundscape created from astronomical data, Hyunmoo experienced the beauty of the light installations.
Finally, Hyunmoo enjoyed the 'Luminous Nodeul Willows' exhibit, where light dances among the willows, creating a magical scene.
With various food trucks offering delicious options, the festival also features numerous event booths, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
As the night fell, Nodeul Island was filled with music and light, creating a special autumn night experience.
