Review of Old Knives Restaurant in Itaewon: A Hidden Gem

Last Christmas, I visited Old Knives, a hidden restaurant in Itaewon.
Located in an alley near Noksapyeong Station, exit 3.
As I entered through the door and climbed the stairs,
I was greeted by a delightful array of Christmas decorations.
Even from outside, the atmosphere was inviting.
While sitting at the bar would have been nice,
I was intrigued by a private room that looked cozy.
Fortunately, we were led to that room!
It had two spacious sofas,
which felt a bit too big for just the two of us, but it was great!
We had pre-booked the Christmas set menu for two, priced at 160,000 KRW.
The menu included salad, pasta, 200g steak, dessert, and a bottle of wine.
I made the reservation around December 9th and luckily, there was just one time slot left!
The owner was cheerful and friendly.
They mentioned they would contact us if there were any cancellations, but thankfully, there weren't any.
The staff were incredibly kind, making the experience even better.
The ricotta yuzu salad was sweet and tangy, really delicious and whetting our appetites.
It was tasty even when dipped with bread in the dressing.
They suggested trying the steak with the salad dressing, which sounded intriguing.
I noticed a signed photo of actress Park Bo-young from ten years ago on the wall.
The bacon cream pasta was a perfect combination, impossible to fail!
The steak was also impressive.
All the food was delicious, and the beautiful ambiance and friendly staff made the experience delightful!
The final dessert was tiramisu, which was okay, but the reindeer and Santa decoration was adorable.
The lovely atmosphere makes it a great spot for couples celebrating anniversaries,
as well as for friends gathering for a good time at the wine and cocktail bar, Old Knives.
It was a very satisfying Christmas meal!
I saw on Instagram that the cocktails looked enticing, so I’ll have to try them next time.
The end!
