Returning to My Alma Mater
Hello! I recently visited my alma mater for the first time since graduation.
Although the campus felt different in some ways, every familiar path and building brought back vivid memories.
Sanghuh Library and Campus Memories
Sanghuh Library is one of the most meaningful places for me.
It is where I first met my partner, and walking past it again made me feel deeply nostalgic.
Back then, campus buildings did not have clear numbering, but now the signs make navigation much easier.
Ilgam Lake: The Heart of the Campus
Ilgam Lake has always been my favorite spot on campus.
The calm water, surrounding reeds, and wide walking paths make it perfect for a relaxing stroll.
During festivals, we even rode boats on the lake, carefully paddling while enjoying the scenery.
In spring, the cherry blossoms around the lake were breathtaking. Sitting by the water felt like being in a small paradise.
Student Union and Campus Life
The Student Union building remains a central hub on campus.
It offers dining options, cafés, stationery shops, and now even a certificate issuance machine.
I was surprised to see a new mascot greeting visitors. Founded in 1931, the university is approaching its 100th anniversary in 2031.
The souvenir shop was full of tempting items, from department jackets to cute mascot keychains.
Why Konkuk University Still Feels Special
One reason I love this campus is its flat layout and excellent accessibility.
Unlike many universities in Seoul built on hills, Konkuk University is close to the subway station, making daily commuting easy.
The combination of a beautiful lake, open spaces, and convenient transportation makes this campus truly unique.
Final Thoughts
This nostalgic campus tour reminded me of the moments that brought my partner and me together.
Revisiting Konkuk University felt like stepping back in time, while also appreciating how the campus continues to evolve.
