Introducing Joan & Dawson Tearoom, a delightful escape in Yeonnam-dong!

J&D Tearoom

πŸ“ Address: 24, 3rd Floor, Seongmisan-ro 29gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul

⏰ Hours: 12:00 - 21:00 (Last Order at 20:00)

Please note: Open only on Saturdays and Sundays!

Oops! I planned a weekend outing to Seoul, only to realize this cafe is only open on weekends, haha.

Aesthetic Scene

Located on the 3rd floor, Joan & Dawson Tearoom is a 'coffee-free cafe' specializing solely in β€œtea.” So, no Americano here!

The overall atmosphere of the tearoom felt warm and inviting. The interior, decorated with wood and gray tones, creates a cozy and calming vibe.

Aesthetic Scene

They offer a wide variety of teas, including milk teas. Joan & Dawson Tearoom's signature blended teas are on display, allowing you to smell and choose your favorite.

Aesthetic Scene

The tea fridge also has bottled milk tea drinks available for takeout.

The restrooms are located inside the tearoom, so you don't have to go outside, and they're very well-maintained. It's evident that they've put a lot of thought and care into the interior space.

Aesthetic Scene

They have a variety of seating options, from tables for 3-4 people to larger group tables. When it's busy, they often have customers share tables.

Aesthetic Scene

There's a huge window in the front, so even without bright lighting, the sunlight makes the space feel warm and cozy. Sipping tea while looking outside felt incredibly relaxing.

We ordered Hojicha and Matcha milk teas, and of course, the reason we came all the way here: French toast!

Aesthetic Scene

Looking at the picture makes me want to eat it again! Honestly, at first, I didn't think the French toast would be *that* good...

But I was immediately won over by the freshly made, warm French toast, then again by the subtly sweet syrup, and finally... the Maldon salt!! A perfect sweet and salty combination. Seriously, save the Maldon salt for last!

Aesthetic Scene

Because without the Maldon salt, the French toast just won't be the same...

Actually, next time I go, I think I'll just start by pouring the Maldon salt into my mouth, haha.

Aesthetic Scene

Isn't the atmosphere amazing? The Hojicha milk tea... I'll definitely order it again next time. The Matcha was also seriously delicious. It's like drinking a slightly melted Matcha ice cream – a rich, intense flavor! It was sweet, but the slight bitterness of the Matcha was still present, which was perfect!

Aesthetic Scene

(Waiting times!) We arrived a little before 1 PM, and thankfully there were still some seats available. It seemed like a wait started around 1:30 PM, and then it got less crowded again after 2 PM.

Keep that in mind if you plan to visit!

Overall:

β˜‘οΈ Perfect for days when you want to relax with tea instead of coffee

β˜‘οΈ A highly recommended cafe when you’re looking for a Yeonnam-dong cafe with a warm and cozy atmosphere

β˜‘οΈ Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy a proper milk tea ????

Aesthetic Scene

The French toast is a must-order, and definitely try the Hojicha milk tea!

It's a tearoom you'll want to visit again and again ????
