Introducing Mail Room Espresso Bar: A Unique Café Branding Project_01

F&B brand planning, menu development, space design, café branding

Interior design and construction, package design,

and operational system establishment

TDTD connects all processes needed for restaurant and café branding in a seamless flow.

The café branding project we are introducing this time is the Mail Room Espresso Bar in Sindang-dong, planned and designed by TDTD.

Located in the alley of Hwanghak-dong Market, the Mail Room is a place where people come to find their delightful letters (coffee).

At the Mail Room, some write letters while others send gifts, each enjoying their own thrilling moments.

"Check your Mail Room"

The Mail Room was featured in Episode 6 of tvN's show "Al-sul-byul-jap"!

Our brand, Mail Room, is a key store that helped establish the hip vibe of the area.

BRAND CONCEPT

The Mail Room modernizes the original meaning of a space for storing and delivering letters, conveying small thrills in everyday life.

Based on the warmth of an old post office and the friendliness of the local community, we reinterpret analog elements like handwritten letters, stamps, and mailboxes into experiences.

The core colors reflect the mood of vintage red, antique wood, and the texture of old paper, creating a cohesive worldview across space, graphics, and merchandise.

Mail Room aims to be a local brand you want to visit daily, characterized by friendly pathways, meticulous details, and unexpected joys.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

The graphic mood of Mail Room features textures of old documents and natural lines that seem hand-drawn.

Elements from vintage newspapers, stamps, and envelopes are restructured with a modern sensibility, capturing the warm temporality and emotions of the brand.

Illustrations resembling maps, mail carriers, and small post office scenes are delicately styled to weave a unique narrative for Mail Room.

Classic color tones like red, green, and brown enhance the depth of the graphics, making the brand's essence immediately recognizable.

SPACE DESIGN

As you walk through the alley of Sindang-dong, you will notice a café with a façade reminiscent of an old post office, adorned with hip graphics.

The façade is not just a graphic sheet; it is a work made from vintage books, each layer hand-torn, soaked, and dried to showcase the texture of the paper.

The façade invites you to feel the volume and texture that cannot be replicated in print.

The first floor features a standing bar and counter, where the mailboxes on the wall serve as a key device showcasing the Mail Room's worldview.

After ordering at the counter, you can retrieve your menu from the mailbox, as if receiving a letter.

The second floor is not just a goods zone or seating area; it serves as a small archive of the brand's heritage, filled with curated stationery and writing tools.

This carefully crafted environment allows visitors to experience the warmth of sending handwritten letters.

TDTD aims to reveal the brand's values and appeal through a balanced and thoughtfully designed branding process.
