During my recent trip to Busan, I had the pleasure of staying in Songjeong, where I discovered the ocean-view cafe, Suwolgyeonghwa. I had heard about this hidden gem for a while, especially with its intriguing title as a 'Beach Train Cafe.' The anticipation of riding the beach train the next day added to my excitement.

It was just a short 10-minute walk from my accommodation, and the thrill of the journey was already at its peak. The stunning view of the sea and the beach train running along the tracks made me feel the essence of Busan. The ability to enjoy both the ocean and the beach train was the main reason I chose Suwolgyeonghwa.

As I entered, the unique architecture caught my eye from afar, and I couldn't help but exclaim in awe. The expansive windows revealed the beautiful blue sea of Songjeong, reminiscent of a well-painted watercolor. The refreshing atmosphere of Busan's sea was palpable.

Orders are taken on the third floor, while drinks and teas can be enjoyed on both the second and third floors. Throughout the space, there were charming photo zones that naturally encouraged visitors to take pictures. The traditional aesthetic of the interior made it feel more like a tea house infused with Korean sentiment rather than just a cafe.

Luckily, a window seat became available right away. The main area on the third floor was lovely, but I discovered a cozy seating area on the second floor where you could sit on the floor without shoes. It was a perfect spot to enjoy a quiet conversation while gazing at the sea, with the round windows framing the view like a picture.

When it came to the menu, I found it hard to choose. I couldn't resist trying Suwolgyeonghwa's signature dessert, so I indulged a bit and ordered both the Ssanghwa Tea and the Dalbodeure Box. The Ssanghwa Tea was impressively rich, and paired with nuts and snacks, it felt like my accumulated fatigue was slowly melting away.

The Dalbodeure Box, named for its meaning of 'sweet and soft,' featured five carefully crafted desserts that provided a delightful surprise. The Injeolmi skewer had a chewy texture combined with crispy brown rice, creating a nutty flavor with every bite. The Ganache Monaka evoked nostalgia with its appearance, enhanced by French chocolate ganache, making it soft and sweet—perfect with coffee. The whole red bean butter Monaka was chewy and combined with nutty flavors and gourmet French butter, making it irresistible.

As I enjoyed my tea and desserts while looking out the window, the beach train passed by slowly. My child excitedly exclaimed, "It's a train!" and clapped. I loved the repetitive moments of gazing at the sea, watching the train, and then back to the gentle waves.

The ability to enjoy both the sea view and the beach train view was the unique charm of Suwolgyeonghwa, providing a romantic healing experience exclusive to Busan's Songjeong.

My time at Suwolgyeonghwa was truly healing, with its open ocean view, thoughtful drinks and desserts, and comfortable atmosphere. If I return to Busan, this cafe will be at the top of my list to revisit, and I look forward to trying their coffee and other desserts at a leisurely pace.
