Discovering Bakie House: A Cozy Dessert Cafe Near Gongdeok Station

If you stroll along the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail near Gongdeok Station, you'll come across a charming little dessert cafe called Bakie House.
From the outside, it exudes a cozy and warm atmosphere, and once you step inside, the rich aroma of baked goods and cakes fills the air, making you want to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee.
I was initially recommended to visit as a 'cake hotspot' and was greeted by a beautiful display of seasonal fruit cakes along with a variety of brownies, financiers, cookies, and scones.
Among these, I chose a slice of chestnut cheesecake, a house latte, and a Bakie latte crème brûlée coffee. The combination was perfect!
First up was the house latte! This is a must-try. It’s a drink served with crispy biscotti on top of creamy coffee. The cream is rich yet not overwhelming, and when mixed with the coffee, it creates a wonderfully smooth sweetness.
You can enjoy it until the last drop. I've tried similar cream lattes at other cafes, but Bakie House is the best...
The Bakie latte (crème brûlée coffee) has a thin layer of caramelized sugar on top that crunches delightfully when broken. The subtle brûlée aroma blends beautifully with the smooth latte, creating a lightly sweet flavor. Just looking at the coffee menu, you can tell it’s not just a simple dessert cafe but a true 'coffee hotspot.'
The highlight of the day was the gluten-free chestnut cheesecake. Its texture is denser and finer than regular cheesecake. With each bite, you can feel the chestnuts crunching, and the natural sweetness of the chestnuts pairs perfectly with the savory cheese, making it not too heavy. It truly reflects the care that went into making it.
I highly recommend it to anyone searching for cakes in Gongdeok.
The warm atmosphere of the cafe and the ability to enjoy desserts while looking out at the forest trail from a window seat are significant attractions. Overall, you can feel that every dessert is made with love.
The packaging is so beautiful that you might want to gift it to your parents or friends on special occasions, and above all, the taste is consistently good. It’s not just a 'pretty cafe' but a place where you can truly enjoy satisfying desserts. Next time, I plan to order a whole cake.
For those looking for cakes in Gongdeok or wanting to take a break for coffee while strolling along the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail, I highly recommend Bakie House!
