Delicious Discoveries at Seoul Station

When I was really into Dujonku...
I tried various stores, but they were either too sweet, too dense, or just dry and crumbly.
I couldn't find the perfect one!
Then I stumbled upon Dujon Tteok at a limited-time stand at Seoul Station!
I couldn't resist and bought some right away! Hahaha!
What I loved was that the prices were better than other cafes, there was no limit on how many you could buy, and the waiting time was minimal (about 10 minutes).
They even had a version with strawberries!
The location is on the KTX side of Seoul Station, and you can see it immediately to the right as you enter.
It's the spot where people gather (even before Dujonku became a trend!).
Here are the prices:
Dubai Chewy Rice Cake: 6,500 KRW
Fresh Strawberry Dubai Chewy Rice Cake: 7,500 KRW
Chocolate Strawberry Chewy Rice Cake: 5,500 KRW
Butter Bean Chewy Rice Cake: 3,500 KRW
Isn't that reasonable?
I wanted to buy several since there was no purchase limit, but I thought I might eat too much, so I only got one of each.
Being a grandma, I also have to worry about my health!
For reference, I have a bit of a grandma's taste, enjoying things like misutgaru, black sesame, and mugwort.
So, I was thrilled with the Dujon Tteok from the limited stand!
I put them in an insulated bag and traveled for about 30 minutes, and they were perfect when I ate them!
Even before Dujonku became trendy, people bought them as gifts, so the insulated bag felt quite luxurious.
It costs 1,500 KRW, but it looks good for reuse later.
The packaging is beautiful, making it a great gift!
Each piece is wrapped, and there’s an extra layer of plastic inside to prevent any powder from spilling.
On the left is the Dubai Chewy Rice Cake, the top right is Chocolate Strawberry, and below is the Butter Bean.
The visuals are stunning!
The chewy rice cake skin is incredibly thin, giving just the right amount of chewiness without being overwhelming.
The Dujon Tteok has a crispy kataifi and moist pistachio filling, which I absolutely loved!
Also, it’s not as sweet as marshmallow skin, so I was completely satisfied!
I’m glad I only bought one; otherwise, I would have lost track and eaten several!
The Chocolate Strawberry was moist with strawberries, and the chocolate wasn’t overly sweet, blending perfectly.
The Butter Bean was rich with butter, making it truly satisfying!
Here’s a cross-section of the Strawberry Dujon Tteok!
The basic Dujon Tteok has a white rice cake skin, but the Strawberry version seems to have a chocolate rice cake skin.
It may not look like there’s much kataifi when you see the cross-section, but there’s actually a good amount when you eat it.
The strawberries are incredibly moist and juicy, which I enjoyed even more.
The Dubai version is on the moist side.
I ate four of them in a day because they were so delicious!
Since then, I’ve searched for various Dujonku, but my top pick remains the limited stand.
If you like moist treats, make sure to try the Dubai version!
