A Delightful French Toast Discovery in Ikseon-dong: A Review of Meal Toast

During a recent outing to Ikseon-dong, I stumbled upon Meal Toast, a French toast 맛집 (delicious restaurant). Here's my review!
While exploring the charming streets of Ikseon-dong, I noticed a long queue even on a weekday. Intrigued, I discovered it was for a café specializing in French toast. Of course, we had to try it.
The location is easy to find: take Exit 6 from Jongno 3-ga Station and walk past Ikseon-dong Galmaegisal Street. Ikseon-dong isn't very big, so you might feel like you're wandering in circles, revisiting the same spots. (lol)
Because of the long wait, I couldn't take a picture of the exterior ㅠㅠ
Here's the menu!
Even the menu is adorned with cute little toast shapes.
Interestingly, they had a Japanese menu. It's the same menu, but everything is written in Japanese!
Here is the Meal Toast Japanese menu.
Just out of curiosity, take a look at the Japanese menu! haha
Here's what we ordered:
Strawberry Soufflé Toast: ₩20,000
Chestnut Vanilla Honey Bread: ₩15,500
Drip Coffee (Iced): ₩7,500
Cream Coffee Classic (Hot): ₩7,500
The Chestnut Vanilla Honey Bread is an upgraded version of the familiar honey butter bread! It's topped with Mont Blanc cream and vanilla ice cream. The inside contained custard cream.
It was warm, and the cream was overflowing – super sweet!!
Good things deserve a close-up! ~~
The French toast itself was just your average French toast.
But the strawberry part was insane! It tasted purely of fresh strawberries, not at all greasy, just sweet and amazing. It was gone in a flash.
The drip coffee was hand-drip Americano, and the taste was clean and without acidity! Just perfect!
The cream coffee was a latte with sweet whipped cream on top, which my sweet-coffee-loving sister enjoyed.
However, because the desserts were already sweet, she couldn't finish the whipped cream at the end. Unless you're a huge whipped cream fan, I'd recommend the drip coffee, milk, or matcha here.
We were seated in a corner near the entrance, so we didn't realize it, but those seated in the middle could watch the drinks being made, which seemed like a more upscale and fun experience.
It almost felt like an omakase experience haha. I happened to see them making a matcha drink, and it looked delicious.
Here is the interior.

The restrooms are inside the café; one is for both genders, and one is exclusively for women.
I'm eyeing that center seating area lol. Next time, I want to be seated there.
Also, there are a lot of foreigners who visit. Almost all the staff speak English and Japanese.
Since it's a dessert café specializing in toast, they also sell bread. They said they need a 10-minute heads up to prepare it. We were too full, so we skipped the bread.

If you're craving something sweet in Ikseon-dong, Meal Toast is a delicious option worth trying.
By the way, the prices are insane these days haha. I'm feeling the reality of it all over again. That's all for now!
