Ulsan Big Baby House: A Unique Indoor Date Spot in Ulsan

Greetings from the Ulsan Metropolitan City official blog team!
We've been enjoying relatively mild weather, but I heard that the temperature is expected to drop below freezing.
For times like these when outdoor activities become difficult, I'd like to introduce a unique indoor date spot in Ulsan. It's easily accessible, located in Jung-gu: the Ulsan Big Baby House (Ulsan Keunaegi House).
Ulsan Big Baby House is a cultural complex that offers various attractions and activities to both Ulsan citizens and tourists, with an exhibition and sales of tourism products taking place simultaneously.
The representative character, Ulsan Big Baby (Ulsan Keunaegi), is well-known as the winner of the grand prize at the 2nd Our Neighborhood Character Awards in 2019.
In some regions, such as Jeollanam-do and Chungcheongnam-do, 'Keunaegi' is a dialect word meaning 'unmarried woman'. In Ulsan, the name 'Big Baby' is used as a local symbolic character.
While there is only one word, 'bachelor,' to refer to an 'unmarried adult male,' there are various synonyms and related terms for 'unmarried adult female,' such as 'spinster,' 'maiden,' 'damsel,' and 'miss'. The dialect word 'Keunaegi,' meaning the same thing, feels more familiar and beautiful because it is a pure Korean word.
Ulsan Big Baby House serves as the flagship store for the brand 'Big Baby,' representing Jung-gu, Ulsan, and also acts as a tourist information center providing various local information. It's a very enjoyable space to browse, as it sells a variety of character merchandise.
You can also download the 'Hi, I'm Ulsan Big Baby!' emoticon sticker for free from the Naver OGQ Market. Amazingly, the first floor is filled with various goods that can be used in daily life, such as rugs, umbrellas, ballpoint pens, and tumblers.
This means that the 'Ulsan Big Baby' character has considerable recognition and influence!
If you are visiting Ulsan for the first time, it's a good idea to stop by here first and plan your trip based on the various leaflets and pamphlets available.
Please note that Onnuri gift certificates and Ulsan Pay cannot be used when purchasing goods at the souvenir shop.
2nd Floor: Ulsan Big Baby's Room
The second floor offers a variety of attractions and activities for tourists, all themed around Ulsan Big Baby.
The room recreates the fantasies of young girls, fitting for the realistic character of Ulsan Big Baby, and is especially popular with families with young children.
Even I couldn't help but smile at the Big Baby's room, which is full of princess beds and various cute and charming props. Please be sure to observe the sign on the bed that asks visitors not to climb on it.
The Big Baby's shoe cabinet, which has more shoes than I do, also caught my eye.
The character was developed by Jung-gu, Ulsan in 2016, so it has quite a history now. She was appointed as a 9th-grade honorary public official in 2017 and promoted to 7th grade in 2022, and is actively used in the production of district promotional materials and in various other fields.
There is also a Big Baby mug-making experience available. The design is cuter than I expected, and I thought it would be a fun memory to share with friends, lovers, or family.
The drawing on the special paper is printed on the cup in reverse, so please keep that in mind if you want to make one.
3rd Floor: Ipalcheongchun Photo Studio
The 3rd floor is operated as the Ipalcheongchun Photo Studio, with a modern opening concept.
This is why I highly recommend it as a unique date spot in Ulsan.
You can rent retro costumes and visit with your lover, friends, or family to create various styles and take unique photos. You can try on up to two outfits per person and up to three accessories per person.
Studio use is free for the first hour, and an additional fee of 5,000 won is charged for each additional hour.
Costume rental is 10,000 won for the first two hours, with an additional fee of 5,000 won for each additional hour.
I thought this was a really reasonable price!
Don't you think it's a unique date spot in Ulsan, considering you can take such pretty pictures?
If you're worried about an indoor date, let's head to Ulsan Big Baby House!!
The studio atmosphere, the photography equipment, and everything else that serves as the backdrop for the photos were perfect.
If you want to use the studio, you need to make a reservation in advance, so please contact them separately before visiting.
From costumes to shoes that go well with the modern opening concept, there are so many different types that just trying them on will be a fun and happy memory.
I was thinking that I would love to take a unique photo here if I had the chance.
The area around the 'Ulsan Big Baby House,' which is decorated as a space that everyone can't help but love, is also a representative tourist destination in Jung-gu.
It is also a great place to visit in conjunction with the Ulsan Big Baby Youth Night Market held at the Jungang Traditional Market connected to the nearby Youth Street, the Ulsan Art Museum, and the Goboksu Music Hall, making it especially recommended for walking tourists.
If you are looking for a unique date spot in Ulsan, I hope you will visit Big Baby House at least once.
