Embers scatter in the wind above the pond at Mu Jinjeong.
As night deepens, the beautiful sight of the Nakwha fireworks, glowing brighter and brighter, captivates the audience, drawing them deeper into its charm.
The 33rd Hamann Nakwha Festival took place on the 24th.
Tickets were sold out in just one minute due to overwhelming interest.
I will vividly share the events from the pre-show to the end of the Nakwha fireworks.
To prevent traffic congestion, temporary parking lots were established at various locations, including Hamann County Office, Hamann Fire Station, and the public sports field, along with shuttle bus services.
After receiving wristbands for entry verification, attendees boarded the vehicles.
The shuttle buses operated at full capacity, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey compared to previous events.
Only those wearing wristbands were permitted entry.
On that day, many police officers and firefighters were stationed throughout the venue, working diligently to ensure the event ran smoothly and safely.
The Nakwha Festival ran from 1 PM to 10 PM, featuring various experience and sales booths for attendees to enjoy.
We spent time enjoying pre-show performances and various activities before the lighting ceremony.
Activities were popular with both children and adults, with traditional drinks, watermelon juice, and watermelon ice cream being particularly loved.
As time passed, crowds grew larger, and many people were seen waiting in line.
Upon my arrival, I immediately enjoyed an iced Americano and then tasted the watermelon ice cream. Given that Hamann is famous for its watermelons, such innovative products are likely to leave a lasting impression on consumers.
The exciting performance of the intangible heritage, Hamann Hwachun Nongak, added to the festive atmosphere.
The weather was pleasantly cool, and with traditional musical performances, it felt like a deep dive into Hamann's traditions and culture.
Before the lighting ceremony began, performances continued. A beautiful a cappella team took the stage, and the voices of the singers heightened the atmosphere.
Boats were placed on the pond, and the Nakwha fireworks team began to hang the fireworks.
Each was hung at regular intervals, and when thousands of fireworks ignited, the essence of the Nakwha Festival could be appreciated.
People held their breath, watching the fireworks being hung with curiosity, tension, and anticipation.
The skilled announcer began the proceedings, and the audience started to engage, entering the main segment of the Nakwha Festival with the lighting ceremony.
Initially, we witnessed the process of igniting the fireworks, which proved to be more complex than expected.
Balancing on the water was challenging, and with the wind blowing, the flames appeared quite dangerous. Nevertheless, the effort to light each one was truly remarkable.
Once ignited, the fireworks began to burn brightly, capturing the hearts of the audience as the sparks danced in the wind.
And then came the highlight! With a single strike, all the fireworks fell, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Many attendees likely thought, "This is why I came!"
The peak of the Nakwha Festival is when the flames flutter in the wind, creating a stunning sight. Recently, this event has been featured in numerous dramas and films.
The lingering beauty of this moment feels everlasting! Remember, the festival takes place every year on Buddha's Birthday, so be sure to visit next year!
