The Beauty of May in Ulsan's Taehwa River National Garden

May is the season of roses and the queen of seasons!
In Ulsan, May is filled with the fragrance of flowers, making it a delightful experience.
It's not too late to enjoy it now.
The pride of Ulsan, Taehwa River National Garden, is at the peak of spring.
Shall we embark on a journey to the fragrant and vibrant Taehwa River National Garden, where you can experience the beauty of spring with its diverse flowers, plants, and bamboo groves?
From Nam-gu, where I live, it takes about 20 minutes by car or 30 minutes by public transport to reach the Taehwa River National Garden in Jung-gu.
This time, I used the public parking lot next to the Milky Way Bridge, where the Taehwa-dong food complex begins. The national garden is easily accessible in the city.
Crossing the Milky Way Bridge, you arrive at the entrance of the Taehwa River National Garden, which also features the Ulsan City Tour bus stop for convenience.
Welcome to the lush greenery of Taehwa River National Garden!
This garden greets visitors with various flowers and trees throughout the four seasons!
In this post, I immersed myself in the beauty of the garden, capturing lovely photos of red poppies, purple cornflowers, and fragrant peonies.
As I strolled along the garden path, the refreshing greenery made me pause in awe.
Benches and shaded rest areas blend seamlessly with the surrounding scenery, creating a picturesque garden painting.
People walk at their own pace, perhaps taking a moment to escape the busy rhythm of life.
No matter which direction you start walking in the national garden, every frame you capture becomes a work of art.
The beautiful flowers in the national garden are public property.
Enjoy their beauty and fragrance with your eyes and heart!
The red petals hanging on green stems sway like waves in the wind, creating a stunning spectacle.
The peony garden in Taehwa River National Garden is a 'photo zone' that captures life's moments.
As I paused to take pictures, the scenery left me enchanted, making it hard to move.
While enjoying the beautiful views, I found myself curious about the afternoon light as it began to set, casting warm hues on the flowers.
Although I thought I could visit anytime, the busy days made me realize I hadn't come here often enough as spring was drawing to a close.
After being captivated by the allure of the red poppies, I discovered a garden where red poppies and purple cornflowers coexist beautifully.
The gentle hues of purple and light pink cornflowers complement the red poppies, resembling a sea of purple.
Each step into this purple sea resonates deeply within, as if drawing you into its beauty.
Next to the cornflower garden lies Monet's Garden, connected to the Willow Yard.
This space, though not extravagant, embraces a natural charm!
Walking along the garden path feels like stepping into a painter's canvas, evoking thoughts of Monet, who famously said, "Flowers made me a painter."
As I passed the arch bridge adorned with purple climbing flowers, I made my way to the center of the Taehwa River National Garden.
In the middle of the garden, there is a visitor center where wheelchairs and strollers can be rented.
Don't forget to take a photo with 'Floby the Bee Fairy,' the character for the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo!
May this garden festival in Ulsan be a success as we look forward to the green future of 2028!
The highlight of the Taehwa River National Garden is the Peony Garden, where various peony species bloom beautifully.
As we approach the peak blooming season, the large, colorful flowers are a sight to behold.
The layered petals create a stunning view that naturally stops visitors in their tracks.
With ample shade in the peony garden, it's a perfect spot to rest after capturing countless photos.
Even my adorable companion, Haewool, made sure to capture some beautiful moments.
From May 15 to 17, the '2026 Taehwa River National Garden Spring Flower Festival' took place, starting with a spring concert and transforming the garden into a vibrant festival.
As the sun began to set, the garden took on a different, more emotional ambiance.
The '2026 Taehwa River International Jazz Festival' fills the early summer nights with enchanting music.
Wishing you beautiful moments filled with the fragrance of flowers!
Thanks to the few hours I dedicated to myself, I felt a wave of happiness wash over me.
This day was filled with smiles and warmth, and I believe it will carry me through the month.
As May and spring come to a close, I cherish these beautiful memories.
Currently, Ulsan Grand Park is filled with the scent of roses, while the Taehwa River National Garden hosts a daily spring flower festival with peonies, poppies, cornflowers, and baby’s breath.
When you feel the need to take a break from your daily routine, don’t hesitate to step into the Taehwa River National Garden for a healing experience!
