Revitalizing Experience: Singing Bowl Meditation at Ulsan Museum

Hello, this is Kim Jong-hee, a blogger from Ulsan.
Today, I would like to share a very special experience that revitalized my tired daily life.
It was a Singing Bowl Meditation class held at the Ulsan Museum after work.
To cut to the chase, it was a true healing and restful time for both the body and mind.
1. Ulsan Metropolitan City Public Facility Reservation Service
This class was registered through the Ulsan Moa system, a very useful service that every Ulsan citizen should know about!
✔️ Convenience of Reservation
You can easily find the desired classes by region and facility without complicated procedures.
✔️ Variety of Classes
There are many trendy and beneficial classes, not only in exercise, education, and cultural experiences but also in meditation programs like the one I attended.
✔️ How to Use
You can check real-time reservation status and apply through a smartphone app, making it very accessible.
First, download the Ulsan Moa integrated reservation app from the Play Store for Android or the App Store for iPhone.
After verifying your identity, simply register and choose your desired class.
There are weekday and weekend classes available, as well as children's museum programs.
Once the reservation is confirmed, you're all set. The museum even sends reminder texts as the date approaches, which I found very considerate. :)
On the day of the event, I visited the museum.
Besides viewing the historical and industrial exhibitions, there are plenty of engaging sights and activities, including special exhibitions and children's programs.
The Ulsan Museum is a place where citizens frequently visit to experience various trends.
After movies, senior education programs, and children's activities, they offer a Singing Bowl Healing program available after work!
Actually, I missed the previous session because I applied late.
This time, I set an alarm to ensure I applied on time.
Since it's a popular class, I recommend applying early. :)
The class is held in the immersive video room on the second floor.
Arriving early, I enjoyed a coffee and sat by the window with a nice view, which already lifted my spirits.
Upon entering the immersive video room, the instructor and museum staff had everything prepared.
Just looking at the calming scenery increased my anticipation for the class.
I love Singing Bowls because they create sound and resonance that brings peace to the mind.
While I've bought them during travels and watched videos, I felt I needed to learn more than just listening to the sounds, which is why I signed up for the class. :)
I listened closely to the instructor's gentle greetings and explanations.
We began by practicing letting go of our responsibilities and worries using two stones placed in front of us.
By comparing the invisible burdens to tangible stones, it felt easier to let them go. :)
2. Deep Resonance that Touches the Heart
The Charm of Singing Bowl Meditation
The formal title of the class I attended is 'After Work Rest, Museum' as part of the 2026 Cultural Day program.
This program provides a time for our bodies and minds to regain balance amidst the constant state of 'Doing' where we accumulate tension.
Through Singing Bowl Meditation, I experienced a reflective time that allowed me to slow down and harmonize my body, mind, and breath, finding inner peace.
I highly recommend this experience where you can meet your true self in the tranquility of the museum!
The Singing Bowl meditation at Ulsan Museum exceeded my expectations.
The gentle vibrations of the Singing Bowl melted away the tension in my body within the static space of the museum.
They provided warm sleep masks, and as I lay down and focused on my breath, I dozed off for a brief moment, feeling as if I had a wonderful nap.
When I got up, I took a moment to comfort myself, and unexpectedly, tears flowed, making me feel both embarrassed and curious if this was what purification felt like.
The instructor quietly approached and comforted me, and her words, 'You don't have to be strong,' resonated deeply.
Due to work pressures, I had been unable to sleep well and was under significant stress, but following the instructor's guidance to focus on my breath and the sounds, I found myself in a precious moment of concentrating solely on 'myself.'
I am truly grateful to the Ulsan Museum for organizing such a high-quality healing program!
I also want to thank Lee Hyun-jeong, the education curator, who took photos and provided various guidance during the program, as it allowed me to write a more detailed and immersive article. :)
3. Anticipating the Next Program
Join us!
This experience was so wonderful that I am already looking forward to the next programs at Ulsan Museum.
I often visit for exhibitions, but I hope there will be more cultural classes that soothe the weary hearts of citizens and resonate beyond just viewing exhibitions.
