Reflections and Resolutions for 2026

Looking back, 2025 was a year filled with emotional growth, seasonal memories, and personal changes that made the passage of time feel meaningful rather than unfair.
This post reflects on closing out 2025 through journaling, health awareness, and financial review, while gently welcoming 2026 with renewed focus and intention.
It is a quiet but honest record of digestion, reflection, and setting intentions for a more grounded and energetic new year.
A Year That Didn’t Just Pass, but Was Fully Lived
Personally, 2025 was a deeply meaningful year, and now a week has already passed in the new year.
When I was busy with work, I often wondered what I had done to deserve aging another year.
But last year, I clearly remember how my thoughts and emotions shifted with the seasons.
Spring azaleas, summer roses, autumn ginkgo trees, and winter Christmas trees all left their mark.
It was a year I slowly digested, moment by moment, making time feel less unfair.
Part 1: Saying Goodbye to 2025
In this post, I want to summarize how I closed the year and how I’ve begun this new one.
Diary Reflections That Finally Became a Habit
Like most diaries, mine started off irregular.
But from August last year, I somehow managed to write almost every day.
Looking back at those entries now, I can clearly see their value.
Some thoughts make me wonder why I worried so much, while others make me smile at how grateful and happy I was, even during difficult times.
Ending the Year with Meditation
On December 31, I visited a meditation center to reflect on the year.
Reviewing my monthly emotions, personal changes, and newly learned skills felt like a gentle closing ritual.
It was a calm and grounding way to officially say goodbye to 2025.
Becoming More Conscious About Diet and Health
As health warning signs appeared, I became much more mindful of what I eat.
Cooking and eating alone made me unsure if I was doing things right.
So I began recording my daily meals and asking AI for nutritional feedback.
I realized that small awareness changes could have long-term impact.
Going forward, I plan to be more mindful of cold-natured foods based on my body’s cycles.
I also want to reduce heavy combinations of carbs, flour, and oil at dinner.
Supplementing magnesium, zinc, and omega-3 is now part of my routine.
Budgeting as a Tool for Clarity
I’ve been keeping a monthly budget spreadsheet since 2022.
Reviewing my year-end finances allows me to see my assets clearly and identify areas of overspending.
It also helps me prepare for months filled with birthdays and anniversaries.
For 2026, I want to categorize shopping records more precisely.
I’m also challenging myself to reduce my biggest expense categories by 10 to 20 percent.
Looking back, it’s surprisingly fun to identify purchases that were worth it and those I regret.
Part 2: Gently Welcoming 2026
After a year focused on recovery, I want 2026 to be about energy and concentration.
Rather than rushing, I want to stay immersed and present.
Books and Recording That Inspire the New Year
Recently, I learned how diverse the world of recording can be.
When I feel unsure about what to document, certain books offer practical and comforting guidance.
I buy seasonal calendars every year, and this time I also picked a daily-summary planner.
Filling it with small notes and stickers has already become something I look forward to.
Looking Ahead with Warmth and Intention
I’m genuinely curious about what my fully filled 2026 planner will look like at the end of the year.
After taking time to heal, this feels like a year to step back into the flow.
May the warmth and energy of the Year of the Fire Horse embrace everyone.
