Hello!

This article is based on my visit to Iksan Seodong Park on April 2nd.

Seodong Park is well-known for various reasons, particularly the Seodong Festival.

However, the park's cherry blossom paths are surprisingly not as widely recognized.

Today, I would like to introduce you to the cherry blossoms of Seodong Park, which have just begun to bloom.

Located at 41-14, Godo 9-gil, Geumma-myeon, Iksan, Jeonbuk, the park's parking lot is filled with pink cherry blossoms.

The blossoms have just started to bloom, and while they currently appear to be about 30-40% open, I expect they will be in full bloom by the weekend or early next week.

As you leave the parking lot, you will see a road leading up to the Mahan Museum. Instead of heading straight to the museum, take a left to find the cherry blossom path.

I must admit, the parking lot is the most densely populated with cherry trees.

This can be a bit disappointing, as visiting on weekends means the area will likely be crowded with cars and people taking photos, making it hard to capture good shots.

It truly feels like spring now.

Just the other evening, I heard frogs croaking near the lake, and today, I was greeted by the buzzing of bees busy pollinating the cherry blossoms.

While the current bloom rate may seem sparse, when the blossoms reach full bloom, it will be a beautiful sight.

One downside is that this park is not primarily focused on cherry blossoms, so the spacing of the trees and areas without blossoms might be disappointing for visitors like me.

Nevertheless, walking along the paths is enjoyable, and the relatively low number of visitors makes it a pleasant experience.

As I continued walking, I found another cherry blossom path leading to a different parking area. You can easily find it by moving right along the path.

The cherry blossoms also extend to the picnic area, making it a nice walking route. It might feel a bit short, so keep that in mind as we moved deeper into Seodong Park.

Right in front of Seodong Park is Geumma Reservoir. There are cherry blossoms on the opposite side, so we decided to skip the picnic area and head directly across the deck path. The refreshing scenery and the spring breeze were delightful.

As we approached the Miruk Plaza, you’ll see a path leading to the riverside rest area. You can also walk along the deck path directly to the riverside rest area.

This area also has cherry trees, but since it receives less sunlight, the blossoms here are not as developed as those at the entrance.

Inside Seodong Park, cherry trees are scattered, and while they are blooming more slowly than those on the outskirts, there were still many visitors enjoying the park.

We walked our dog while enjoying the cherry blossoms, and the grassy areas and diverse scents made it a wonderful experience.

After searching for a good spot to take photos under the cherry trees, we finally found a nice location. If you have pets, bringing them along to enjoy the cherry blossoms can be a joyful experience.

In about 2-3 days, the blossoms are expected to be in full bloom. By Sunday, I anticipate an incredible scene. If you dislike crowded places this weekend, why not consider visiting the cherry blossoms at Seodong Park?
