I've recently started to discover the world of board games.
I used to see my board game enthusiast friends and think, 'Is it really that fun?'
But after playing a few times, I realized it's super fun! Seriously, I lost track of time.
I decided to try it with my partner, so we visited Key Lab Board Game Cafe in Konkuk University.
You can find it just one floor down.

The entrance fee is cheaper on weekdays than weekends, and the drink menu is incredibly diverse!
They have a variety of cocktails and beers, as well as snacks.
I've heard that playing board games while drinking is really fun, so it might be nice to have a drink while playing.
There are both floor seating and table seating options.
Most importantly, all the seats are separated, so you can enjoy a private gaming experience.
They also have tables that can accommodate several people, so if you're looking for something to do with friends in Konkuk University, I highly recommend this place!
An incredible selection of board games!

They have over 1500 games, and the shelves are packed. Just looking at them is enough to make time fly by.
From famous games to games I've never heard of, there's a wide variety, so people of all ages can enjoy them.
Even for us board game beginners, there were plenty of options to choose from.
If you have a game you want to play, the owner will find it for you, so don't worry if you can't find it yourself.
We chose a floor seating table.

They provide a tablet, so you can search for games or watch video explanations.
You can search by the number of players, difficulty level, and genre, so it's easy to find a game that looks fun.
Even as board game novices, we were able to pick out games we wanted to try by watching the simple explanations.
While we were choosing games, the snacks we ordered arrived.

Savory and delicious popcorn, Earl Grey tea, and peppermint tea!
They even gave us chopsticks to eat with while playing games. The owner is so thoughtful!
The first game we played was Yakitori!

I really wanted to try it, and finally did. You flip over a card and skewer the ingredients in the correct order.
It seemed easy, but when we got complicated skewers, we both struggled and laughed a lot.
It's a game that requires quick reflexes and observation skills.
It was our first time playing, but the rules weren't difficult, and we replayed the video explanations for parts we didn't understand.
The next game we played was Indian Poker.

This one was a bit difficult because we weren't familiar with poker cards. You have to guess each other's cards and bet chips.
Neither of us are good at psychological games, so we could tell everything from each other's expressions, and it ended quickly…
It would be fun and hilarious to play with a group of friends.
The next game we played was Raon!

There are four ways to play, and we chose to make words horizontally and vertically.
It seemed easy at first, but creating words with limited chips was not easy at all.
We also brought this game because the artwork was cute: Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza!
You say the words in that order and flip over a card. If the card and the word match, the first person to put their hand on the pile of cards wins!
If a special card comes out, you have to do the action associated with the card.
There was an action where you had to bang on the table, and we banged so hard that our fingers swelled up!
Compared to the previous games, this one didn't seem as well-known, but the rules were simple and easy, so beginners like us could easily enjoy it.
We had so much fun!
I highly recommend it as a date spot in Konkuk University.
Even without much knowledge of board games, I didn't realize how quickly time passed.
If I didn't have another appointment, I would have played much longer.
If you're looking for a board game cafe in Konkuk University, I highly recommend this place.
They have a lot of different games, it's very clean, and the staff are very friendly! It was my first board game cafe experience, and it was great.
I should come with my friends next time!
It will be a great indoor activity when the weather gets colder.
Highly recommend it as something to do in Konkuk University!
