Jeonju Zoo: Where Autumn Foliage Meets Adorable Animals

Jeonju is known for its beautiful autumn foliage. I'd like to introduce you to Jeonju Zoo, where you can enjoy a walk and see animals at the same time.
In the fall, you can stroll along the trails adorned with colorful leaves and enjoy seeing various animals. It's a popular destination for friends, couples, and families with children.
Shall we head to Jeonju Zoo to enjoy the autumn scenery together?
ㅣAddress: Jeonju Zoo, 68 Sori-ro, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do
Jeonju Zoo, which opened in 1978, is a popular relaxation spot for Jeonju citizens and tourists!
It houses approximately 430 animals, including lions, tigers, and hippos. With its pleasant walking paths and adjacent Dream Land amusement park, it's a great place to visit for a day trip.
Parking & Admission Fees
◆ Parking Fee: ₩1,000 for cars / ₩2,000 for large vehicles
◆ Admission Fee: ₩3,000 for adults / ₩2,000 for teenagers / ₩1,000 for children
The parking lot is relatively spacious, making it easy to park even on weekends. The admission fee is also affordable, so you can visit without any 부담 (burden).
As soon as I entered, the first thing I saw was the Metasequoia Road, dyed red.
The trees colored with autumn light stretched out along the road, making it the perfect place to start a walk.
The falling leaves and roadside scenery blended well, allowing me to fully experience the autumn atmosphere.
Inside the zoo, there were tables and benches in various places, making it a good place to take a break.
It was also a great place for a fall picnic, perfect for eating lunch or enjoying a simple snack with children.
The first place I headed to was the Jeonju Zoo's Prairie Forest.
Here, you can see zebras, ostriches, Tony, and big-horned cattle moving leisurely on the grass.
The sight of animals grazing under the maple trees felt like a scene in nature.
Next to the Prairie Forest, you can find Jeonju Zoo's cherry blossom path.
Although the leaves had all fallen in the fall, imagining the cherry blossoms in full bloom in the spring made me want to visit again when the flowers are blooming.
Information signs were well-organized along the paths, making it easy to find various animals along the way.
Thanks to the clear weather, there were many children on picnics, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the zoo.
Next, I visited the Wolf Forest.
The wolves looked like dogs from afar, but when I got closer, I was surprised by their much larger size than I expected.
Around the animal enclosures, there were information boards summarizing the characteristics and ecology of the animals, which was helpful for viewing.
Next, I went to see the tigers.
The tigers I encountered were much larger and more majestic than I thought, but their expressions and movements were more cat-like than I expected, which was interesting.
Please note that viewing most animal enclosures (tigers, elephants, hippos, etc.) may be difficult after 5 PM when entering.
After looking around the Raptor Conservation Center, I went to see the elephants.
The trees around the elephant area were also beautifully colored with autumn foliage.
Every time the elephant moved, it blended with the surrounding autumn scenery, and I couldn't leave for a while because of the beautiful sight.
After watching the animals, I moved to Dream Land.
The scenery of autumn foliage and amusement park rides was unique.
If you ride the Ferris wheel and look down at Jeonju Zoo at a glance, you can see the entire landscape full of autumn leaves, which would be really beautiful.
Finally, I bought ice cream from the snack bar and sat on a nearby bench to take a break.
Finishing the walk while eating sweet ice cream under the autumn leaves made me feel relaxed and healed.
I have introduced Jeonju Zoo as a famous autumn foliage spot in Jeonju.
Jeonju Zoo is a great place for a fall outing because you can enjoy not only autumn foliage but also animal viewing and an amusement park all at once.
How about spending a relaxing time with autumn foliage at Jeonju Zoo on the upcoming holiday?
