Heuheuam Temple: Find Peace and Serenity by the Sea in Yangyang, Gangwon-do


Heuheuam Temple is a hermitage located on the coast of Hyeonnam-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do.
The name Heuheuam is said to mean 'put down your daily worries and rest, and rest again'.
Founded in 1997 by Monk Hongbeop, Heuheuam Temple started with a single Dharma hall called Myojeokjeon. It became famous as a prayer site in 1999 when a reclining Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva rock was discovered.
