Hapyeong Beach & Hapyeong Railway Crossing: Donghae's Rising Hot Spot

Hapyeong Beach in Donghae: Perfect for swimming with its shallow waters!
And right in front of Hapyeong Beach is the Hapyeong Railway Crossing!
On weekends, you'll find over ten people lined up to take photos.
This spot has suddenly become a must-visit in Donghae.
(Please note that taking photos on the tracks is illegal.)
Hapyeong Beach & Hapyeong Railway Crossing
Quick Info:
Hapyeong Beach and the Hapyeong Railway Crossing are closer to Mukho Station than Donghae Station!
It's within walking distance from Mukho Station, but (beware of the uphill road, take a taxi!).
Walking from Donghae Station might be a bit challenging.
We recommend using a car or public transportation.
Donghae's Hapyeong Beach!
Where the KTX train tracks meet the sea.
But please be careful and avoid going onto the tracks!
Installing tripods on the tracks is dangerous, and if a train comes, you might not be able to escape in time and risk getting hurt!
Taking photos on the tracks requires prior approval!
The fines are steep!
Location:
40-1 Pyeongneung-dong, Donghae-si, Gangwon-do
If you search for Hapyeong Beach, you'll find parking available along the roadside.
But because it's become so popular lately, if there are no spots available!!!
Then we recommend parking across the street at Hapyeong Park.
Usage Information:
Road to the coastal forest!
And if you go straight to the right, you'll reach Hanseom Beach.
Hanseom Beach is prettier and has more to see, in my opinion.
Haparang Trail Course 33
Mangsang Beach - Mukho Station - Hapyeong Beach
- Hanseom Beach - Donghae Station - Chooam Beach
Chooam Beach is a famous spot that appears in the first scene of the national anthem.
There's a foot-washing station (세족장) on the way down to Hapyeong Beach!!!
The East Sea is usually deep even after only a few steps into the water!
But Hapyeong Beach is shallow even if you go in quite far.
Even on weekdays, people are enjoying snorkeling.
There are public restrooms for your convenience!
Here is the Hapyeong Beach Haparang Trail!
A rest area right in front of the sea!
While walking along the side, I saw a couple enjoying the vast sea all to themselves.
There are places to rest and life jackets available for free!
This is the Hapyeong Railway Crossing!!
The photos will be beautiful, but be careful.
Taking photos on the tracks is illegal!
Entering the tracks themselves is illegal!!
Don't be too greedy and stay safe.
Enjoy your visit!
