When you think of Vivaldi Park, you probably think of Ocean World, the ski slopes, or the gondola, right?
But did you know there are hidden gems waiting for you in the basement of the resort?
After planning our vacation, my second child suddenly injured their leg, which meant no swimming or strenuous activities.
We were looking for indoor activities when we stumbled upon this place and had so much fun that we spent the whole day there!
???? Atmosphere of the Underground Space
The basement floor of the Vivaldi Park resort is designed as a kind of cultural and leisure space.
It seems to be one of the few places in Korea that offers an all-inclusive experience.
There's a row of karaoke rooms, arcades, and cafes, with a ping pong table area and a billiards room located in the middle.
The ping pong and billiards area at Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon is a great place for families to play together, creating a friendly and cheerful atmosphere.
The best part is that it's indoors, so the weather doesn't matter at all.
It's cool in the summer and warm in the winter, making it perfect for taking a break from outdoor activities.
???? Ping Pong Review
30 minutes of ping pong: ₩8,400 (for 2 people)
₩3,000 for each additional person
The ping pong area isn't huge, but it's well-maintained. There were about 4-5 tables, and you can rent rackets and balls at the counter. The rackets were clean, and the balls bounced well, making it feel like I was playing proper ping pong for the first time in a while.
Our family isn't particularly athletic, so I was worried we'd get tired quickly, but once we picked up the rackets and started hitting the ball, the kids' competitive spirit kicked in, and we played for ages.
At the Vivaldi Park ping pong and billiards area in Hongcheon, they check the number of people using CCTV. So, if your kids say they're playing alone, but an adult joins in, the number of people will be checked. If you think this might happen, it's best to pay for the extra person in advance so you can enjoy yourselves without worry.
We said we'd let the kids play alone, but my husband ended up joining in and we paid for three people. Haha.
The tables are spaced far enough apart that you don't bump into or disturb other teams, which was great. It's a resort, so there were lots of families, and everyone was relaxed and having fun, which made me feel even more at ease.
???? Billiards Review
Billiards Fee
₩15,000 per hour - 10% discount coupon available for hotel guests
Next to the ping pong area was the billiards room, which had a slightly more calm and mature atmosphere. There were several billiards tables in a fairly large space, and there was also a pool table, making it easy for kids to get involved.
The kids argued over who got to team up with their dad, who's good at billiards, but we agreed they could take turns... and we all had a great time. Haha.
???? Convenience and Facilities
The ping pong and billiards areas at Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon are both clean and well-maintained.
The equipment, such as balls, cues, and rackets, were in good condition, and the floors were clean and non-slip, making it safe to use.
There are also chairs where you can sit and wait and a small vending machine for drinks, which is nice for cooling down after playing.
When you come to a resort, people usually flock to the crowded swimming pool or ski slopes, but this underground space is relatively quiet, giving it the feeling of a hidden oasis.

Friends & Couples – Add excitement by competing in billiards or ping pong.
Those who need daily exercise – It's easy to get lazy at a resort, but even just an hour or two of playing can provide a good workout.
???? Overall
The ping pong and billiards area at Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon is a 'small but fulfilling space'.
It was a precious place where we could spend some time during our trip, break a sweat, and laugh together.
It's a great place for both kids and adults to enjoy, as adults can show off their old skills and kids can have fun playing. It’s definitely a place for people of all ages.
I would definitely visit again if I return to Vivaldi Park! If you're planning a trip to Vivaldi Park, I highly recommend taking a walk around the underground space. You might find it more fun and special than you expect.
