During our visit to Pohang, I would like to introduce a great place to visit with children: the Gwangmyeong Culture Center!

This center helps kids understand Gwangmyeong, a local specialty that might be unfamiliar to them.

In addition to information about Gwangmyeong, there are marine experience centers and virtual underwater experiences that are sure to pique children's interest!

The address is 28-8, Guryongpo-gil, Nam-gu, Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The operating hours are from 09:00 to 18:00, and it is closed on Mondays.

Admission and parking are free!

You can enjoy free admission and parking. Even on weekends, it wasn't overly crowded, allowing us to explore most facilities without waiting.

Near the Gwangmyeong Culture Center, you can also visit the Guryongpo Japanese House Street, a famous tourist spot in Pohang.

After parking, we headed straight to the second floor!

The areas where you can enjoy with kids are located on the 2nd to 4th floors, while the 1st floor has a shop for travel souvenirs.

On the second floor, there is a Gwangmyeong statue, perfect for taking pictures.

Although I initially thought Gwangmyeong was a food that kids wouldn't be interested in, the center has created spaces for children, ensuring they can have a memorable time in Pohang.

The marine experience center on the second floor is designed to allow close encounters with marine life, including fascinating pufferfish and flounders.

Across from it is a virtual underwater experience room, where you can feel like you're underwater through media art!

As we watched, we were surprised by grand turtles and whales appearing on screen!

On the third floor, there is a promotional hall for the history of Gwangmyeong.

At the entrance, there is interactive media art that reacts to movement, making it hard for both adults and kids to pass by without stopping.

The third floor offers a larger space and more information about marine life, including Gwangmyeong, capturing the attention of children.

It was a great opportunity to learn about unique sea creatures like blobfish and sunfish that are not commonly seen.

The center presents the process, etymology, and origin of Gwangmyeong in a way that is easy for children to understand through photos and sculptures.

The Gwangmyeong Culture Center presents Pohang's specialty in a child-friendly manner!

It's not just a simple exhibition but a hands-on experience designed for children, making it a perfect family travel destination in Pohang.

I hope this article helps you find a great place to visit with your kids in Pohang!
