Exploring Picnic Maru at Ulsan Grand Park

Many people visit Ulsan Grand Park on weekends.
Especially popular among children is the newly opened Picnic Maru, which offers a variety of play facilities including net play areas, resting spots, decks, and children's play equipment.
To get to Picnic Maru within Ulsan Grand Park, it's best to use the South Gate. There is a large parking lot available for those driving, allowing convenient access to the dedicated parking area.
Before the opening of Picnic Maru, Ulsan Grand Park already provided excellent play spaces for children. The park features unique eco-friendly play facilities designed to engage children with natural phenomena and scientific principles, such as a rainbow net, artificial hills for jumping, and sound amplification play areas.
Picnic Maru is located past the existing play facilities, newly established near the former Children's Traffic Safety Corporation. The colorful net playground visible among the green trees is part of Picnic Maru's net play facilities.
During my visit on a weekday, I noticed several families enjoying Picnic Maru with their children.
The net play facilities are open from 9:30 AM to 5:50 PM, operating on a first-come, first-served basis (free of charge). Each session consists of 20 minutes of play followed by a 10-minute break, with a total of 15 sessions available daily. Children under 100 cm must be accompanied by a guardian, and the weight limit for users is 100 kg.
The net play area is three stories high, offering various activities using nets. Children can jump and roll through circular openings in the nets without any risk of injury.
Access to the second and third floors can be gained via stairs or through cylindrical passages connected by nets.
On the second floor, a large soft ball adds to the fun, providing a safe play experience. The third floor features a sunshade that creates a cool area, and children can create their own hideouts in the unique spaces available.
The view from the nets on the third floor is spectacular, allowing visitors to see the entire play area of Ulsan Grand Park.
The highlight of Picnic Maru is the resting areas! Reservations are required through the Ulsan Facilities Corporation booking system, with two sessions available each day for 4-hour use at a cost of 20,000 KRW.
There are six resting spots in total, with spots 1 and 2 located near the net play area, spots 3 and 4 situated above it, and spots 5 and 6 near the children's play area. Spots 3 and 4 are adjacent to spots 5 and 6, making them suitable for group reservations.
Each resting area is equipped with air conditioning and tables, providing a comfortable indoor space to enjoy snacks after playing while also enjoying the scenic views of Ulsan Grand Park through large windows.
Finally, there is a children's play area featuring eco-friendly play equipment made from various types of wood, including a cylindrical slide and a zip line, which are particularly popular among children. Please note that this area is only accessible to children under elementary school age.
Picnic Maru at Ulsan Grand Park is a hot spot that is already fully booked for resting areas due to its popularity. Embrace the nature and enjoy the diverse play facilities, and make sure to have a wonderful time with your children!
